I wish I knew that was going through that simulacrum's head--if anything. The Oracle seems to know it pretty well, and she doesn't seem real worried about it, but...well, you can never tell exactly what the Oracle might be thinking about, either. I just hope this does work out in the long term, because right now, it looks like it could be trouble.

The thing that worries me about this is that there were a lot of Machine programs already at that location, which makes me think that the sim was there meeting with them, rather than getting spooked like Seraph said.
I was saying to a few people yesterday afternoon, this might not be such a bad thing. The sim is still based off Morpheus and it's taking in a lot of information and learning very quickly from it. I just hope it remembers some things before it's too late.
As long as the Matrix exists, the human race will never be free.

Oh come on kid! You should know by now that the sim's going to join the Machines, or even funnier us Cypherites!
How much would that annoy you?
Love,

Oh no Chloe, if there is one thing you and I both can agree on it's the constant annoyance the Kid brings with each action he makes. While he does help Zion out with his crusaders, fact remains that I still will always question his competents as a leader.

Nah, it's not just you. Something that a friend of mine said last night probably holds true: "I wonder what make a fanatic? The first thing that comes to mind is 'trauma'." Probably the trauma of self-substantiating...

Though, Cypherites leaders AND soldiers are made up of morons.

I think Niobe summed it up best: "Well, he's no Morpheus." He's powerful as hell, figured out how to achieve enlightenment by himself, great idealism, all that. But he's also hardly experienced the Matrix at all as a redpill, is 18 years old, and acts more as a uniting figurehead than anything else.
Is he going to save humanity? Not a chance, by a mile. But he works as a leader of sorts, and right now we take what we can get. When the other choices are Roland, Merv, or the myriad of possessed human mouthpieces the Machines call liasons we can get pretty desperate.

Fixed.
I think after that attack on Zion, her people should question the competence of some of it's own leadership before questioning others. I just hope the commander can close up the holes in Zion's security before there's nothing left.

Agreed, but then again, it doesn't take a lot of smarts to be snitches and sell out your own bothers and sisters.

No matter what the Simulacrum chooses to do, the less contact he, or anyone really, has with Popper, the better.
#3630033808610/16/2007 08:42:22Re:[8.3.2] A lot of people want a piece of this guy - Vector - 10/12/07
Well, if I were a Machinist, I wouldn't get too comfortable with him interacting with the Machine either. Remember how fast he learns and how he's able to make decisions for himself unlike the Machine, which could prove to be volatile. I know they don't take too kindly to choice after all, and he isn't exactly under their sphere of control either.

That's a truth we can be a 100% certain of, Roukan and Pyraci. - and I'm not referring to the incompetent leader comment about your own Command, Roukan, keep it up and we'll have a not so pleasent talk - just you, me and Sametrix.
Regarding EPN Command...We're soldiers and soldiers carry out orders, we do consider if those orders are for the benefit of EPN or Zion only at times... but I can't recall any operations with Michael or Shimada which haven't been for the benefit of mankind in our fight to free humanity - take this to heart before calling us fanatics. We fight for what we believe in and we will keep fighting until everyone has been given the choice of true freedom. We always have, and we always will, it's that simple.
You have my word.
Neo Bless You

Heh, If I have known that EPN can get so easily distracted by a few cookies I would have suggested making a stockpile ages ago! Perhaps Popper and his gang should just let the more determined Zionites try to find the Sim.
((Also, why is the Oracle's name all strange and 'ORRRRACLLLEE412'? It's been bugging me for ages but haven't actually found out yet...))

I wish to God that I could disagree with you. I can't. The whole *CENSORED* thing was a sham. Go back and read the text, we asked all the right questions. The Oracle if anyone does knew exactly where he was.
The whole meeting is summed up in her answer to two questions: "How do we know you would help us gain the program's support? To this very day how do we know you don't support the Machines?"
Oracle: "Oh, I didn't say I'd help you, did I?"
Seraph seems to be a different story. He's practically made the series the last few months. I'll fight more Agents with you anytime Wingless buddy.

You used to not be able to have characters with same name on each server so I think they used wierd names on their side, but for us the players the names look normal!
Although I'm not sure if things are that way anymore looking at all the other live event pictures =) Maybe the name can't be changed here now that it is set?

I was curious about that myself; for a moment, I thought it was one of thos copycats you see from time to time (the best was the guy on Recursion running around under the name "LeMerovingien"... who got his can kicked for him by a bunch of Blackwoods: I remember watching that happen, with LinksLife and a couple of others. Silliest sight I'd seen that night.), but then I realised the chat lines were a different shade from the rest of the area chat lines.

Because I don't like to see death. If a fool rushes into battle, and the fools behind him listen, they all die. However, if his generals or people he trusts tell him to calm down and think, we'll survive. That's why I'm there. I may cause death, but I atleast prevent it on those I care about.

No he isn't. None of us are. We are all, whether we like it or understand it or not, responsible for our actions in one way or another. Actually, I think those that believe that the human race needs to live under the jurisdiction and control of the Machine are in essence being "babysat" by the Machine. After all, mankind is doomed to destroy itself without it, right?

Humankind does not destroy itself per se. A Minority forces themselves with "power" upon the majority and then force both parties in extinction. Leadership is great, no?
The Machines are no exception. It hasn't happened, yet, doesn't mean it won't. There is still credit to be given to the Machines where it is due in that resort. Blood credit, that is.

When the God of Dreams truly presents himself, there will be true chaos within he simulation, for a time. Until then, this sim will serve his purpose, and show his faults.
Let us not forget, what the real Morpheus told a select few before his "death".
I will not quote, because some of you know just exactly *CENSORED* im talking about.

Care full with that word. Things don't go so well when you say crusaders or say you are on a crusade. Just look at the Christian faith.

I think that part sums it up quite well. The Kid is a figurehead for people who believe a similar set of ideals and goals. Its evident in the way he acts. His actions are casual and when he is trying to complete a task he acts like more of a fighter and less of a general or captain calling the shots. I'm not saying the he doesn't have a level of authority over others in the faction. He is making decisions and organizing the way the faction moves towards its goals but I think there's obvious differences in the way The Kid does this compared to say, The Merovingian or Agent Pace. The Kid doesn't exert his authority of his subordinates, but rather influences the way they act. His people aren't tools for him to use, they are his friends which choose to help him based upon a shared belief.

What your saying is that Popper uses transformational leadership whilst the Merovingian/Pace use transactional leadership. Both types have their good and bad points, although the most effective in the case of results is the transactional style.

Maybe. I think it depends. I wouldn't say that one produces better results than the other 100% of the time. Different people respond to different motivations. Success is determined by more than leadership. The complexity of the task, resources at your disposal etc. have an influence too, as does leadership.
Either way, I'm not trying to say one leadership style is better than another. Rather I was merely commenting on the type of leader he is.

The 'Michael Popper' is really a sim cleverly designed to collate the very worse in humanity then occupy it by running around in circles, going nowhere and doing nothing other than make the Machines look righteous.
Another brilliant piece of Machine manipulation!
