Sounds like fun, but what do you mean by the 'V' 'VI' and 'VII' other than them meaning 5, 6 and 7? Am I missing something obvious?

((Haha, Paradox ftw! No double standards here!))

Halloween in the Matrix is always fun! Looking forward to it.

#36300336565 10/12/2007 13:51:24 Re:Halloween 2007
They are displayed on the mask icons so you know what year they were from.

V-2005
VI-2006
VII-2007

I can't wait to see what the rest of the masks for 2007 will be.

hmm  I wish we could whip up something like a trick/treat setup...where all mission doors (doors inside buildings that normally go to instanced missions) would function as a trick-or-treat door instead when there's no mission active.  When you "knock" on the door you'd get either a trick, or a treat.  Tricks are hoards of NPC enemies that pile out to attack you with a slim chance for some rare loot .  If you get a treat (rarer), then an bluepill NPC answers the door and walks out...you can right click, select "Get" and receive a treat (rare loot, or a mask, or maybe some cake).

That'd be fun, all redpills waking bluepills up all hours of the day and night! SMILEY

I think that'd be hilarious if masks cross-appeared in each SOE game.  Like Morhpeus showed up in EQII, or a Star Wars mask appeared in MxO.

Cryptos mask pleeeeeaaasseeee SMILEY Scary eyes ftw!
#36300336596 10/12/2007 14:35:32 Re:Halloween 2007
What are the masks this year, I wonder?

Half Twin Torso
Half Twin Legs   (Half Twins? Really? Disappointing.)
Headless - ???
Pandora's Box Doc - Looking forward to this.

What else is there? Unlimit? That would be fun, since the pants they wear aren't available... *cough cough*.

Oh, excuse me, I had a cough.

I guessing corrupters, corrupter giants, headless NPC's. What else was new this year?
#36300336609 10/12/2007 14:56:15 Re:Halloween 2007
Looking forward to this, as always it'll provide a nice break to the regular Mega City day. SMILEY

YAY!  It's nice to see a date.

Now how are we going to get the new masks?  Are they going to be available on the zombies or in the jack-o-lantern boxes or both?

#36300336613 10/12/2007 15:01:21 Re:Halloween 2007
Probably both, with the rare ones on the Zombies.

I believe Rarebit will have another image for the Image Retrieval to showcase another one however it's my understanding that we'll be keeping the other 2 rare masks a secret until you folks find em'.

Ooo, I always liked the Halloween event. Can't wait to get a hold of these new masks.

Is there any chance ol' Effectuator will be coming out to play again this year?

#36300336634 10/12/2007 15:24:23 Re:Halloween 2007
Will we be able to wear old masks from last year? I've got a bunch of them... not sure whether to keep them for memories or if I should throw them away.

25th!  Gah, I don't wanna wait that long!  I'm so excited though!  How will the pumpkins work, are they in specific places or do they pop in places at random?

Usually certain places...well last year it was in like the parks and stuff. I tell ya MxO at Halloween is like a gold mine. SMILEY
#36300336654 10/12/2007 15:56:42 Re:Halloween 2007
All previous masks will work, except for the two Anniversary ones, though it would be cool if those were activated as well. I even think the V and VI masks will be in the loot tables with the VII masks as well. All of the V masks come from the static pumpkins across the MegaCity. The VI and VII masks can come randomly from the pumpkins and Zombies, and I think the rare masks only can be looted from the Zombies.
#36300336667 10/12/2007 16:50:55 Re:Halloween 2007
  • V = 2005
  • VI = 2006
  • VII = 2007

and so on.

#36300336695 10/12/2007 18:05:44 Re:Halloween 2007
Wheee!!! But now we gotta wait two more weeks for the fun to begin... Ah well, between various player events, I got a *lot* on my plate to keep me busy till then.
#36300336732 10/12/2007 20:27:30 Re:Halloween 2007
Nice to have a date, finally.  I can't say I'm extemely excited by the costumes so far, or the lack of changes, but what can ya do *shrug*  I love Halloween anyway.  SMILEY

Meh....I never like the holiday patches aside from the ultra darkness. It just breaks with the themes of what brought me to the game to begin with to much for my taste. But, thats just me.

Yeah, but if you think about it, we have the Matrix theme for the rest of the year (besides the Christmas event, too), so it's nice to take a couple weeks break. Plus I like staring at my Succubus costume.  SMILEY
#36300336770 10/12/2007 21:35:57 Re:Halloween 2007
Well, thats certainly your opinion of what we get the rest of the year then.

SMILEY.

I like them well enough, normally fun content, but it feels like it drags on just a touch to long.

Should be fun. Can't wait. I'm sensing a happy little Bob Ross mask...and that'll be our little secret.

Or perhaps a Chuck Norris/9MMfu/Raijin/Brewko/red ranger/Bob saggot costume..ft**w

I think the ultimate costume would be NT.  Nothing scarier than someone who doesn't like a great Halloween party. :3
