In the "Weve been hacked" news post. There is some text that's the color of the background. It's base64 encoded, and decoded it says "Darkness is coming."

Does someone have a way to play audio clips backwards? Because that's what it sounds like. I just don't know how. SMILEY " width="15" height="15" />

Edit: Scratch that. I figured it out. And playing it backwards results in the same thing backwards and forwards. There are 2 levels, one person talking forward and one person talking backwards, but they're both the same thing. "Algorithm Black. October 31" There might be some "help me"'s in there, but that could be my imagination.

I'm pretty sure it plays the same thing backwards and forwards. Going to the ytmnd site you get a nice version of it without the talking to cover it up. And, like I said, I'm pretty sure it's the same backwards and forwards.

"Algorithm black. October thirty-one." They didn't say thirty-first, which I thought was odd.

It's possible that the word "help" is actually the word "black" heard backwards. Hard to tell with the distortion and layering of both voices.

As far as the "static" image goes: I can confirm it's a 56 frame stereogram.
I'm pretty sure it could be reverse engineered to show the original black and white animation. Anyone else want to give that a try? I haven't had much success.

I spoke with an Operative today that was listening in on Brian Gauss and I having a conversation.

She distinctively made mention of the Algorithm being a way to end this war. Of course, ending a war isn't always peaceful. It can be quite violent and disruptive. So far it appears from Mr. Gauss' perspective that there is a hacker group that excels in tampering with electricity. So far we don't know who is behind this, but there's an expectation that these operatives are like cultists to this Algorithm Black.

I am hopeful that this Algorithm can bring peace, but the past has told me otherwise. There's been a total of four blackouts or incidents thus far. Baldwin, Guinness, Camon, Guinness.

Zerotolerance is in there too and I hail from Vector. But in-game, I don't use that handle... Which leads me to believe that this event is partially aided by LESIG (you can add buddies for the level 1 BrianGauss on all instances), but most of the participation is players familiar with Recursion. Thus my in-game handle wasn't present in the list.

I don't mind where the content comes from, as long as it's there.

The first name is Cardvaunt (as far as I can tell... next time put a stocking over the mic to prevent popping)
The second name is actually Mantra777 (this and severeth are the cause for the "7" being heard in the audio)

Most of the other names have been listed already. There are at least 2 audio streams overlaid to produce the message, and as far as I can tell they are all Recursion operatives.
There is no other message (other than the words Algorithm Black in the .gif)

Presumably this is the list of people being watched by the Algorithm.

hidden.ht* is now showing a newspaper article about the electrical fire in Guinness Lake that killed a family. Brian Gauss told me about this sometime last week. We should expect to see more disturbances.

Also, the locations map shows a few points of interest in Richland that show where the potentials reside.
