Is anyone else REALLY looking forward to the Halloween event? In my opinion it was the best event last year by far i know its another month away but still im looking forward to it.

When will the update to apply it happen? Will they change or add anything? What masks would you like to see? I think an elite commando mask would be cool. Just don't remove anything from it and the zombie spawns were brilliant!

#36300328187 09/24/2007 04:16:40 Re:Halloween Event
I like the event as a whole I just dont like the darkness that comes with it..... it is too dark and it gets annoying just like when everything was red for weeks on end.

hmmm disguise wise I have never really thought too much into it for this year.  I suppose I'd like to see somethign different like the gargoyle although we may be runnign out of idead for them

Pumped for the possibility of Zombies? Oh yeah.

Pumped for straining my eyes to see anything other than my character in the god-awful darkness? No.  Not even.

I'm looking forward to it 'cos I'm finally going to be in-game for it. The university firewall can't block me now! Mwua-hahahahahahahahahah!

University firewalls block MxO? Nooo I'm starting university in October. I just have to hope that's not the case where I'm going.

You may get lucky. There was no reason for my university (Durham) to block MxO apart from their strict adherence to their own rules: no non-standard ports are opened unless it's for academic reasons. It's not like MxO chews a lot of bandwidth.
#36300328216 09/24/2007 05:13:18 Re:Halloween Event
oh well better dust off some stock of previous years masks to stick on the marketplace then.
#36300328225 09/24/2007 05:45:46 Re:Halloween Event

Yeah, I am pretty psyched about this year. I've still got some year old halloween masks from last years event.

However, i'm kind of afraid the darkness is gonna cause more problems with my eyes than the red sky did.

You just never know if you're RP wife is a psychologically insane IC axe murderer. :/

Dont you worry, it will..........

Hee, I'm looking forward to it, darkness and all: the dark doesn't faze me much in the least... but I'm wondering what they can come up with to top last year's zombies...
#36300328234 09/24/2007 06:16:27 Re:Halloween Event

Iv got all the masks saved in email SMILEY but i recall the assassin mask being a b1tch to get i think i only got it on the last day of the event last year SMILEY

If your not mishing then the Darkness shouldn't be too much of a pain, i guess chasing jumpers in PvP will be a bit harder, but we do get the big moon for cool screenys. 80% of the time i play MxO its dark anyways, the game seems to follow US time.

iv got some screenys of me turning Tengu into a zombie somewhere at home will have to stick them up SMILEY

Halloween is my most favorite time ever in the Matrix! SMILEY

I sooo cannot wait, and if not for the darkness, the experience would just not be the same!! I wouldn't want it any other way SMILEY

This'll be my first halloween event...I'm a zombie junkie, so I'm too excited. X3  It's gotta be better than the Halloween event for FFXI. @_@

Disprove anything I've stated. Last year, the zombies did, in fact, crash half the server for days.

Negative or not, I just hope it won't happen again.

And if that was too negative for you sensitive-types:

Better?

It's not about disproving.  It's about being excited for what's to come.

Man this takes me back,

The haloween event 3 years ago was the first one i was around for, really brings back memories and also shows how far we have come since then.

I missed the first Hallowe'en event by a few hours: I was on dial-up and it took the better part of three nights to download the first patch when I first subscribed. But the second more than made up for missing the first. WHOO! Zombie madness FTW!

I have never agreed with you more.  By the way, I love your icon.

Can someone tell me how the zombie spawns have worked in the past? =P

There were two or three neighborhoods in each district that would give random non-stop Zombie spawns.  They spawned 2 to a person, usually 2 or 3 levels below the person, and if they bit you, you turned into a Zombie as well.  Being "infected" also gave you the ability to "bite" other players in a /duel or PVP or whatever.

Yikes!  No antiviruses or anything?  And does it go away once you die? X3 And will MKT work against it??

Antibiotics remove it, as does ctrl+shift, if I recall... Holy Water almost always one-hit-kills Zombo's.

Mmmmyes, I like what I hear!  Hopefully they'll do it...I wonder when it'll start.

Wouldnt it be awesome if they had it month long? SMILEY
#36300332516 10/03/2007 11:04:11 Re:Halloween Event
I dunno though, with it being outside the canon story, it might be too much of a distraction to be that long.
#36300341366 10/22/2007 21:34 Re:Halloween Event
This Halloween should be quite fun, with LESIG events and the Player Event Algorithm: Black. I feel we'll have our hands full. :D
