Bradley - 92299 - I found the answer to new life. It's not ever-lasting life, but it's close
enough, especially if it's renewable. Dreams. Ever since the one that only refers to himself
as Medical Officer revealed the knowledge in my dreams. Dreams within dreams. I confess, I
know next to nothing about computers, but somehow, all this talk about being in a simulated
reality makes sense to me. Well, of course I would accept it - I am not just a dim bulb prepped to
slice open every immoral subject someone puts on my table.

It's not about this dream world. It's about the fact that we live in it. Everything is
possible in a dream, including renewing youth. I just wish the others could understand, but
the Medical Officer says I can't tell them yet. Fulcraux is one of the smarter ones, he knows
something is up. I just passed off his questions by saying I was having a mid-life crisis.
That probably won't shake him off, but it will give him doubts. I can't stop the questioning,
but, what are they going to do about it, anyway?

Bradley - 92399 - Watching the nightmare work is amazing. It will enter the subject's dreams
as they lie dormant in their beds, and proceed to turn their dreams into things of
unimaginable horrors. These dreams become so real that the subjects physically react to them
as if they were. Wooden blocks materializing out of nowhere, ingenious. The mind is a powerful
thing. I must harness this power, and this nightmare. To do so, though, I will need stronger
minds. Minds that are also aware of the dream simulation. As I sat reading the newspaper this
morning, one of those redpill shootings jumped out at me. Suddenly, it all clicked together.
Morpheus especially, with his unusually specific name. I must capture one of these redpills
and use the nightmare on them.

Bradley - 92599 - I don't have much time. The nightmare is on its way to kill me. I don't know
what I did to upset the Medical Officer, but I've overstepped my guidelines. There's still a
way. Redpills can shoot each other all day long and not die. Why? They must exist outside of
the dreamworld. Perhaps if I focus hard enough, I can join their kind as the nightmare works
its insidious magic on me. I must be quick. If it doesn't work, I need someone to pass my work
on to. Fulcraux is the obvious choice. How do I inform him of my peril? I will think on it.

Fulcraux - 91499 - Bradley's been acting funny for a while. He's been researching a lot of
dream analysis books. He's never shown interest in that subject before - always focusing on
exploring the human mind with his knife, not with the mind itself. He's also been sporting
some fancy new items, like a new car, or desk. He claims he's simply finding ways to cope with
a mid-life crisis.

His 68th birthday was three weeks ago.

Fulcraux - 92699 - Bradley's dead. I found a bunch of his notes stashed away in his usual
hiding spot. The fool got in over his head. Apparently he's been manipulated by a strong
program intent on researching the characteristics of humans' dreams. This.. Medical Officer
approached me the same night of his death. Apparently I was his second choice. At this point,
I can't very well report to the Frenchman - that would tip MO off. But I was given access to
the notes storage mainframe he keeps, and after looking through the logs, I saw that the
insurgent population had somehow found it and was prying in. I'm going to try to guide them
through, maybe they'll find a way to stop this madness, before we have to deal with yet
another crazy, power-hungry program.

Medical Officer - 90199 - I've chosen six Generators to use, because of the abnormal arrangement of resources allocated in each generator. My intial research eliminated all the resources in Generator 49D, but I still have five more to use. If I slow down and concentrate on only one resource in each Generator, I will probably cover more ground, provided I don't blow my cover and lose access to the other generators.

Medical Officer - 91099 - My work is constantly being hindered by the guardians of the system. I must use one of the resources that have their own capital to advance my research without botching it. Progress will be slowed drastically, but it's a risk I am willing to accept.

Medical Officer - 92299 - I found the perfect subject. Orson Bradley. Some research doctor, some lab, somewhere in the city. I don't care. It's just a cover. I'll give him some of my resources to practice on. He will send me reports as I work, and I'll use the details to further my research.

Medical Officer - 92499 - Annoyance, badgerer, bane, besetment, blight, blister, bore, bother, botheration, bug, bummer, contagion, crashing bore, creep, curse, drag, drip, epidemic, exasperation, flat tire, headache, heckler, infection, irritant, irritation, kibitzer! So many words, all the same definition. The insurgents have been looking into my research. MY RESEARCH. Obviously, Bradley is to blame. He thinks he can become rich and famous by publishing his notes wherever he pleases. But in my own data mainframe! Infuriations! He must be disposed of. I will find one of his colleagues to continue the cover.

Medical Officer - 92499 - One of the insurgents established communication with me. I admit, I panicked at first. I should have egged the nosy little runt on, then found its signal and out-sourced an assassin. It's too late, now. While a hasty move, rebooting my own mainframe is probably for the best. It will set me back a little while, but Fulcraux seems a worthy resource. I will make up for it quickly.

Medical Officer - 100199 - My research is nearly complete. Soon I will find a new shell and lead the nightmare personally. Perhaps I will find a way to acquire more nightmares. I will be ruler of this City of Dreams within the month! But I'm getting ahead of myself. Right now, I must focus on the minor details with my research. Placing the decimals in the proper places, crossing the t's, dotting the i's... tedious work, but necessary nonetheless.

COD Blunt Trauma 23:45 92199
Attending Bronst

Notes: Patient complained of severe headache. Attending dispatched to treat. No medication
used. Upon questioning of cause of headache, patient committed suicide by slamming own face
into nearest wall. Full report sent to Bradley.

Edition: [From: MO] Use serum 27O to treat future patients with unexplained psychological
symptons.

Edition2: Security alert. Body appears to be missing. Singluar notebook page discovered on
bed. "'...and the dead shalt weep...' You should not mess with the unknown."

Sarah Jones

COD Suffocation 01:47 92299
Attending Bronst

Notes: Patient became unresponsive during routine checkup. Upon closer inspection, a block of
wood was discovered inside the patient's throat. Security update requested. Surveillance tapes
show no discrepancy. Full report sent to Bradley.

Edition: Surveillance reports the lights were shut down for .006 seconds.
The alien item was, upon closer inspection, absent before the flicker.

Edition2: Security alert. Body is missing. Singular notebook page discovered on bed. "'...the
time of repenting is gone. The time of judgement is now.' Your sins are unforgivable."

Toby Van

COD Blood Loss 7:48 92299

Attending Olson

Notes: Patient's arm discovered missing during routine checkup. Patient's disposition
unusually calm. Died during surgery. Patient made frequent references to a dream.

Edition: [From: MO] Use serum 27O to treat future patients with unexplained absent limbs.

Edition2: Security alert. Body is missing. A piece of notebook paper was found on the
patient's former bed. It reads, "...Fear is essential to the primal instinct to self-
preservation. Fear of death? Not all the time. But it's a fear you should make yourself
familiar with."

Paul Williams

COD Systemic Organ Failure 12:01 92299

Attending Bradley

Notes: The patient's organs were completely shredded, but he remained alive much longer than a
person whose heart was confetti. He seemed to live just long enough to utter the words,
"Horrible nightmare." I received the notes from Olson an hour ago, and I compared them to
Bronst's. It all adds up to something. I don't know what, yet. I'll have to get in contact with The
Medical Officer. Side note: Ask why he prefers to be called by that name.

Edition: MO sent the nightmare to kill me. I don't know when it will come, so I must work much
quicker to finish the purge code. I finished a prototype, serum 27O, but it only works after
the nightmare has "touched" the victim - no use for those who have been mortally wounded. I
must find a more efficient purge code to protect the entire sta

Edition2: Darkness clouds my spirit. My shell is no longer attached to my mind. I float
through these halls, wary of the others that were slain by the nightmare. My own work, used
against me - the ultimate irony! Oh, wretched spirit! The trick is in how he works.
He feeds off of his own knowledge - cut him off, and he will wither.

Yancy Dane

COD Suffocation

Attending Bronst 20:00 92299

Notes: Patient screamed for attending nurse. Upon examination, it was found that all the
patient's connecting tissues were severed, leaving the patient completely paralyzed. Patient
claimed a creature in his dreams severed his limbs with a large cutting knife. Full report
sent to Bradley.

Edition: Patient died 8:47 of suffocation. The lungs were no longer able to function properly.

Edition2: Security alert. Body missing. Singular notebook page discovered on bed. "'...find
the key, and the door will open.' Heed my warnings. They do not pertain to you, directly, but
to those who watch without permission."

Orson Bradley

COD Decapitation

Attending Bronst 8:35 92599

Doctor Bradley was found in his office, neck severed, but head aligned with body so that blood
and nerve signals would still function properly. An attempt to move Bradley to the E.R. caused
his head to become completely detached, resulting in his death. Before he died, he attempted
to tell Attending something about dream analysis. No coherent message could be discerned,
however.

Full report sent to the Medical Officer.

Edition: Security alert. Head missing. Bloody pawprints, like those of a large canine, were
found leading from the containment facilities out towards the  city. Full report sent to the
Medical Officer. MO recommends all operations be shut down, and that the Frenchman is covering
his tracks. No idea who the Frenchman is, but best not to upset MO. That nightmare can sure
cause some pain.

Medical Officer - 100599 - Filthy intrusions! I found a foreign program running within my mainframe. Upon closer inspection, it was a key logging executable! It must be those blasted insurgents - those redpills. My anger is dimmed only by my imminent success. Nonetheless, once my work is complete, I will learn the identities behind these reckless hackers, or perhaps I should just disable the data node they frequent as my first work of art. Yes... best to sever the link than deal with the problems as they trickle through one by one.

Bronst, I'm risking a lot getting this message to you. If your so-called "issue" is anything less than severely damaging to my research, it will be your head. My shell still isn't complete, and yes, I'm aware you don't know what that means, but stop thinking about it. I'm sending one of my men to Mercury's garage to do maintenance on the mainframe - I think someone's been hacking it - and you can talk to him there. He'll be there tomorrow around six in the a.m. Yes, that early. It's your fault for distracting me and calling me on the wrong line.

Oh, and a warning - he isn't exactly the most charitable person. That's why I hired him. You better be prepared to do some dirty work for him.

I'll see you at the casino when the shell is ready. MO

Bronst here, I don't think you knew what kind of issue it was.

Listen, the nightmare isn't stable in my eyes and we need to make sure our patients and places are more protected or rather guarenteed to be protected. Bruno said his mainframes and everything was messed with too probably by some *CENSORED* insurgents, we need more muscle around our operations but I gotta work out the exact details with you some time. Oh and how is progress going with the shell?

Oyy... that final message has me beaten. It looks like Base 64, but it ain't getting cracked when I try running it through the converters I've been using.
