Scheduled for tomorrow.

Ah, another pun. Not as good as "process of elimination", but I like it.

H'mm. That was...

Nah, that can't be it. There's something else going on.
#36300326000 09/20/2007 09:40:39 Re:[8.2.5] Mach mission feedback thread: "Execute"
*chuckles sadly*  Once again, you and I think the same way Proc.  This... this can't be right.
#36300326037 09/20/2007 10:42:46 Re:[8.2.5] Mach mission feedback thread: "Execute"
Wow...the result of this mission got me on the edge of my seat, I can't wait to see what happens next!

*gets popcorn and soda*

Did anyone else notice this?

Man Pace has strayed far from speaking like an Agent.

I also wondered what the diversion Veil was talking about.

I was shocked a few missions back when she called me Chris, and said so, but apparently she's used our first names a few times.

It's just plain odd to be called Chris. None of my faction mates call me that, just Procurator. Most of Redpill society has evolved to just use our handles.

I know, I mean I expected to be call Mr. Summer by any programs from the machine world, and MetaLogic or Meta in the Cyph Org.  The "Sean" really threw me off hehe.

That was one of the best missions in a long time!

*Super Spoilers below!*

I didn't expect Wright to get killed off so soon - I was worred that she'd be the new Anome/General type character. Phew.

As for what's going to happen... well, it's about time something went our way.

FURTHER SPOILERS (though, let's face it, you shouldn't be reading this thread if you haven't played the mission)

Wright's not dead. Can't be. She's been in loads of events (clever ones at that), built up as a pretty powerful character, then we walk into an office with no security and she just... dies? Hah! What rot!

I know it was supposedly the Sentinels that killed her, but the fact that she didn't care that we got near her and let the trace be run on her RSI speaks volumes. It's a trick.

Uh-oh... Here's a thought. The Sentinels didn't kill her - they captured her, and jacked her out. The Machines are holding her captive in secret. Not again! Not more subterfuge! This is making us really look bad. SMILEY

Umm how does it make them look bad? We're at war now, she is an enemy combatant. If she is captured and not dead, then she is a POW.
#36300326275 09/20/2007 16:45:28 Re:[8.2.5] Mach mission feedback thread: "Execute"
It makes them look bad because Gray hasn't told us, his operatives, that Wright is in custody rather than dead. That's exactly how they treated the Cypherite issue.

It's on a need to know basis, you can't tell your operative everything in war time because that would create a security leak.  Remember, loose lips, sink ships.
#36300326321 09/20/2007 18:02:22 Re:[8.2.5] Mach mission feedback thread: "Execute"

(( I was thinking the same thing about Wright... then again, it won't be the first time we get a huge build up to something and then it fizzles in a supposed "ending" SMILEY)

Wright has proven intelligent and illusive in the past... I would also be surprised if all was as it seems.

She's talking about sending a Zion ship flying into one of old Zions gates creating a diversion while the Machines go to town on Zion's networks and mainframe while sending sentinles into the city. Basicly Old Zion is no more and those left are currently on there way to New Zion.

True enough (though I like to give our organisation a bit more credit than that), but this isn't just withholding information: it's outright lying. They've lied to us before about the Cypherites, and we were not happy.

(Remember that Anome died in a cinematic, and he was a very important character (albeit a bad one). I was hoping for an Assassin type of event vs him, but noooooo; he died in a cinematic. Same thing here I believe...)

All due respect my friend...

Fact is, how do you know she didn't care? Yes, no security - but she could have believed that to be a secure location. Or maybe she just knew her time up. Either way, if she resurfaces later (I'm quitting), then we'll at least have a fix on her and we'll end it personally.

And war is war my friend - a lot of information has to be withheld. Lying to the masses is not out of the question too, Zion and Merv do the same to their subordinates - it's the price we pay for being a subordinate. All we have to worry about is doing what's necessary to win this war and restore the peace.

Oh i hope she isn't really dead, her character was so akin to Doctor Halsey from the Halo Novels i was loving it!

An interlectual who always seems to know more than she lets on coupled with some super secret personal agenda. An enigma that dispite everyones effort noone can really place. Twas awesome and a definate shame to just kill off in a single subchapter.

That was an awesome mission.  SMILEY

(( I actually agree that the mission itself was pretty good.  Nothing overly new content wise, but some surprises and the massive cliffhanger make it very memorable. ))

This was a very well thought out and very excellently executed mission. SMILEY<img src=

Just looks like shorthand for

Hovercraft Detected
Insurgent Confirm
Standby
#36300329135 09/26/2007 09:32:51 Re:[8.2.5] Mach mission feedback thread: "Execute"
Ah, I didnt think of "detected".

I was hoping DCTCD stood for something, a hint to an insurgent we had in place SMILEY

I thought the same when I read the message.

SNTL means Sentinel I think.

Dunno about OAJDE SMILEY
#36300331466 10/01/2007 06:36:34 Re:[8.2.5] Mach mission feedback thread: "Execute"
No point in killing her - Wright probably accidentally discovered the secret to imortality in the real, things like that happen all the time SMILEY
#36300332923 10/04/2007 05:33:08 Re:[8.2.5] Mach mission feedback thread: "Execute"

There is something unsettling about this.  It was all ... far too easy for Gray.

I sense a trap.  Call it that human sense of intuition - there just isn't something right about this.  And I think our dear Agent Gray and Pace are going to be in for a nasty surprise.  And there is nothing us machine operatives can do about it.

Gray's overconfidence is his greatest weakness.  Gray needs to learn to never underestimate the enemy.
