Im itching for an EPN v. [blank] battle, any possibilities (Syntax)?Blank? All we do is go against Machines/Cyphs, Mervs need to get their asses in gear.

Eh i dont get this....

(:
Define what you don't get? It's really quite simple: we've adapted the rules of tabletop battle strategy RPGs to fit the Matrix universe. The basic rules are here: http://01network.awardspace.com/hov...rafts/Rules.php. The way we've adapted it to fit the game mechanics involves casting dicerolls via the ./random command.

It's been well over 12 hours, and no other Mervs on Syntax have said anything, so I guess it's cancelled.

Hey Vogt I believe I mentioned this before, but ill mention it again. I think that we should start doing a monthly cross sever battle, mainly for those of us with higher ranks so we can participate again, and still allow the single server battles for Captains First Starting.i like that idea that sounds like fun.
Also just because I feel like it, A few of us from the Collective have been traversing onto the Syntax server. And it seems to have way more drama then Recursion,In fact Recursion rarely has real drama where as Syntax seems to have festering wounds from the Cyphs right now, though I still think that Recursion should have the Drama title just because it needs something.Sorry, what?

The events that happened in this battle incitated me to bring a rules change on participation. I will post them tomorrow.Yeah I heard someone was pretty much using another player's name, jeez.

I am EPN and am on the Vector-Hostile Server.(Well, im EPN Faction Wise...)

Then Bayamos won.First time ever tbh.
Ok. It goes like this: Me , Fenny and Bindi challenge Tranque and his crew. and Vogt, wake up guy.

If I were Vogt, I'd tell someone with that kind of attitude to shove off.

If Fenshire isn't up for it, I am.

:: Raises an eyebrow:: Three against one? Not very sporting odds if you ask me. Allow the Quinotaur to level the playing field...

I said Tranque and his crew , i thought i put (Sieges and the rest), guess i accidentaly deleted it. and i meant Tranque's crew as in his regular team.
NeoExcidious: With what team?
RedBindi: We'd volunteer.
rmbr?

I will not accept that at all.
I am awaiting for an answer on an important question about the status of Cypherites and EPN regarding hovercraft battles. Until then, consider the whole program suspended.

Honestly you're lucky Vogt is even hosting these anymore due to the recent changes in the way LESIG is being run, the least you could do is show a little respect, that's all eval was commenting on.
yeah, i was just overexcited. It's all good we can wait.could have said so earlier.i thought you left or something
Errrt, I just registered a ship before I saw Vogt's post.
Meh, at least I finally got that part done. If these get started back up, awesome, I'll be ready.

I wouldn't have any problem making a challenge to the Mervs, but we didn't talk about that at all last night. We were talking about the Machines... where are you getting Tranque from?
Also, there was another conversation going on at the same time, and I'm pretty sure Bindi was speaking to Merrit, not you.
Mad props to you Vogt, for what you do. I hope these battles can keep going. I love them.
EDIT: As an aside, I would never support unfair odds like 3v1. A fair game is generally a fun game.

Might aswell thow my hat in. Please continue the HvCft battles, I've still never had a chance to participate.

I do hope you continue on with the hovercraft battles but if you dont it is completely understandable.

It is my sincere opinion that these battles constitute the single greatest LESIG contribution to content in this game. And given their work regarding live events and sidestories such as the Joker and Scanline, I do not say that lightly. It has been my pleasure to participate in hovercraft battles so far, and they have in turn influenced major decisions in the development of my own character. I hope that they continue for some time to come.

agreed well said as well i relly hope you decide to cintue i was really starting to enjoy these as well.
Yes, it's ok for me.
Zion won.
I do like the proposition. I did think about it a long time ago, but changing rules that have been used since a long time can be complex. This solution would definitely be extremely advantageous for ramming strategies with a good combination of Hull and Energy, but I think that a variation in strategies isn't bad, especially with the current plague in stalling techniques. I'm interested to hear what others have to say about it.
Starting from now, conflictual actions will be resolved by an Energy roll, like before, but the difference is that the winner will decide if he or she acts first or last. This is mostly applicable when ramming a ship that is repairing, multiple chains of rammings, or ramming a ship using an EMP where one of the two ships has 1 Hull left.
The next battle will be Monday, at 6 PM on Syntax. Machines versus Zion.
Machines won by default.
2 out of the 3 last battles scheduled actually did not happen.
Syntax. Indeed, no Zion nor EPN. I remind you that Cypherites and EPN captains have no limits in joining the battles for their associated organization anymore, and in consequence will not have battles scheduled only for them anymore, unless a special situation occurs.
Bayamos is right. In the Recursion battle, no one from the Machine side mentionned their interest to participate in the battle. The battle was then cancelled, and no rank points are awarded.
For yesterday's battle, someone on the Zion side did mention that they would be there. The battle was then held, but no one showed in the end, and this is a default victory. Showing up to a battle and not having one is a sad situation, especially for me. There's no reason why I would punish those that made the effort to show up, regardless of rank. As it has always been, default victories provide 2 rank points to the side that showed up, and in that situation, I don't really care about captains' ranks. I won't enter into a war of What Ifs, thinking that if one captain would show up, a higher ranked captain would not be able to join, or stuff like that.
Making the captains and I lose some time is frustrating. Don't expect me to punish those that made the effort to show up. We're in a situation where these battles risk to be even more rarer that they were before, so we must give full incentives to people to participate.
Yes, you got that right. When someone says they are intending to show up at a battle, you have to consider that there may be others attending with them as well. You can't just say "Oh, since only one person showed interested on the forums, only one person will show up" and only give the lowest ranked Machinist experience. If one side shows interest at all and doesn't show, no matter how many show interest, the other side should be awarded experience for up to three captains if the other side doesn't show.

So, if I entered a lottery and I was the only one that entered the lottery, do I not deserve the money since no one else entered? Your logic makes no sense.

If only you showed up, you would still have to fight the lowest ranked Machinist captain, and if that was me or Bayamos, we would still get experience if we beat you.

Omega0 wrote: I agree with you, to an extent. However, there were many times when people got free XP and their opponents never announced their intention to show up to a battle. This is because this is a new rule. It allows to make sure no one loses time showing up to a battle that won't actually take place. This results in a reduction in the occurence of default victories, but yes, they are still bound to happen. They were very frequent at the start where I didn't know yet which organizations were committed to participate, and which ones didn't care.
I'd say Vector next Monday. Machines vs Zion, at 6 PM.

Is there any chance we could change this to Tuesday? I've been the only Zionite present at the last three battles on Vector, so if it stays on Monday, it will probably be cancelled.
No
