I couldn't believe it when I saw it, but I just performed my first wallkick in what could easily be over a year. It happened in a mission area in the building directly to the east of the Camon Heights C hardline, using the Speed Kung-Fu tactic. My back was to a wall, and my character turned around, ran up the wall, backflipped, and landed with a sidekick to my opponent.

It all happened so quick, but it happened. Going to try to reproduce it in that area again and keep my finger on the screenshot key.

Seems to be a pattern emerging. All reports of it happening to someone since CR2 tends to involve Kung fu with the Speed tactic. Happened to me with those same conditions as well, just it was in Tabor Park.

I just really like that we are getting some of the old moves back and maybe soon we will see some new.

Didn't know if there was or not, I'm a post CR2 redpill... I just like the idea of us gunmen and women utilising a wall to get into a good position for a shot, but as you say if there are no animations for anything like that then I'll just have to wait, and hope....

I'd personally love to see wall running using SMGs, although as it's been said it probably won't happen

The other day I was in interlock with a random guy during a mission and for the firs time I've ever seen, I did a move similar to this one where I ran up the wall behind me, flipped over him and then hit him.

I was like, "What the hell was that?!" I was just doing my normal interlock attacks, but apparently I have never seen that particular one before.
Interesting eh?
#36300318698 09/07/2007 18:47:20 Re:I Just Did a Wallkick
Has this been noted only whilst doing Kung Fu? If so were you all using maxed level skills for it? I've been attempting some Karate (admittedly I don't have the stats for MA) but I've not seen anything.
I take it the wall kick that people have been reporting is a Kung Fu move?
#36300318729 09/07/2007 19:39:37 Re:I Just Did a Wallkick
Most reports seem to mention Speed Kung Fu and Tabor Mission Areas.

I say we do a massive search, equip Kung Fu and mission away.
#36300318897 09/08/2007 09:15:33 Re:I Just Did a Wallkick
It's probably mostly reported in Tabor because of the type of mission areas, which is office block places with corridors and spacey rooms. There, and downtown, are probably your best bets for doing one.

Make that four.

Using speed tactic on an NPC, the NPC positioned with their back to the wall.  Like Vanil, I didn't have the presence of mind to move my fingers a few inches to F12.

#36300319000 09/08/2007 14:00:39 Re:I Just Did a Wallkick

Excellent.  Everything is proceeding as I have foreseen it.

QUESTION:  Anyone managed to do it with Karate yet?  Or just Kung fu so far?  Karate's wall-kicks were the best, imho.

Well I have a lot of Archives to run so I guess that's my plan for the week.  You all are welcome to join me.
Actually.. we could come up with something cunning like taking a large group down to Barebones or opening Pandora Boxes in likely locations.  Anything to get a steady flow of npcs and that...
#36300321209 09/12/2007 06:59:12 Re:I Just Did a Wallkick
I, myself, have actually performed the wall kick on two separate occasions.  Since then I have been attempting to recreate that scenario to no avail.  It was much to my surprise when I ran up the wall, flipped over my enemy and kicked him as I landed.  And as I remember it, it followed the same situation as most have posted here.  Kung-fu, speed, and interlock with an NPC enemy.
#36300323741 09/16/2007 10:33:58 Re:I Just Did a Wallkick
My faction mate (Different one) just said he did a wall kick in Karate, with power set.  He ran the wall kicked off and kicked their face.

Shame we cant get this to work more SMILEY

#36300323972 09/16/2007 18:45:51 Re:I Just Did a Wallkick

Sorry.. I just ran out of time and didn't read the entire thread.. and I have to go.. but

I just did a wall-kick in widow's moor today.  I wasn't really paying much attention because I was buried in tells and xfire.. and interlocked is seriously bugged in there (gah please fix that.. read bug reports.. sent about 20 in so far.).. anyway..

Inside the church..next to (surprise) the wall.. nearly parallel with it.  I went to interlock Garg with speed kung-fu.. instead of the normal I ran up the wall two or three steps (I think two), did a back flip off it and drop kicked him in the stomach.. similiar to sidekick combo.  My Jaw dropped to the floor and I yelled out loud enough my next-door neighbor come over to see if I was alright.

They are out there..I wish I had the presence of mind to screenshot it.

#36300324175 09/17/2007 06:49:23 Re:I Just Did a Wallkick
wow whenever I read new posts about someone doing a wall kick they always get bad luck SMILEY
#36300324186 09/17/2007 07:57:00 Re:I Just Did a Wallkick

If they are still in interlock animation sets then the best chance to reproduce the animation would be in a confined hallway where you and your opponent would be constantly up against the walls. Also you dont need to use npcs only. The animations sets for interlock do not discriminate player vs npc. So in theory you should be able to get it to happen with two players just fighting in close quarters.

Yes, I was using Kung Fu w/speed in either Mara or Uriah neighborhood contact mission.

Me and Sotirios spent about an hour trying to get it to work in a confined hallway...so I guess we shall try again. We thought it was just working against NPC's.

anyways what happened to the other wall kick move? the one where the guy just goes on the wall and kicks the opponent, that is excluding the run on the roof as seen in the video

That is one sweet video...and I love that other type of wall kick.

Hey, that Shadow Razor arm-takedown type move I've see in some of the posted graphics...I think I may have had that one done to me while playing Rellim today a few times.  I didn't have fraps available though (was mobile gaming...don't have it installed on my laptop)..but I'm quite sure I was taken down a few times today with that move.

#36300325391 09/19/2007 09:58:52 Re:I Just Did a Wallkick

OK couple of questions

 1. Is it an entering IL move (like most reports say) or a during IL move (like Rellim's video)?

2. Is it your back that needs to be to the wall (like Rellim's vid) or the enemys back (like exsuscito's report)?

#36300326030 09/20/2007 10:37:19 Re:I Just Did a Wallkick
These moves were (and should still be based on the video) interlock style moves.  They also required your back to be near the wall, not your opponents.  At least that's the why the Karate wallkick was executed.
#36300326139 09/20/2007 14:08:44 Re:I Just Did a Wallkick

Karate Wall kick #1 (The Dive Kick) was done with your back squarely to the wall.

Karate Wall Kick #2 (The Step off kick, aka the Shadow Wall kick) was actually done near a wall, but at a slight angle to it.. or at least that's how I usually ended up seeing it.  When I had my back square to the wall, I almost always got Kick #1 instead.  Or perhaps it was an issue of distance.  Closer to the wall gets you kick #1, a little further away gets you kick #2. *shrug*

#36300326644 09/21/2007 12:18:38 I Just Did a Wallkick
Pretty sure theres only one wall kick per MA.

Speed Kung Fu (flip and kick)

Power Karate (kick off)

Grab Aikido (wall run)
#36300326684 09/21/2007 13:50:35 Re:I Just Did a Wallkick
I can personally confirm that there are definitely 2 wall kicks for Karate.  Back in CR1 when I was doing them, I only had Karate so it couldn't be anything else.  lol  The good old days

#36300327182 09/22/2007 14:37:23 Re:I Just Did a Wallkick
That was for CR1.  I haven't done any testing at all for CR2.  I'd imagine it's the same now, but that I can't confirm.
