Installing the new patch seems to have sparked an erratic error in that I log on and randomly get the 'incompatible client - run self test' dialogue.... was unable to run the self test/test all files as the system told me I was trying to run two instances of Matrix... but then randomly I tried to log in again I got all the way through...since updating to the new patch I am still getting the 'incompatible client' the first time I try to log but if I try again its working ok???
Anyone else?

I got this once after the new patch, but it asked me for my details again, so I re-input them and no problems. I've re-logged a few times but have not experienced this error again...

Its happened to me, but if I just re-enter my details and it goes through.

It occurs everytime both in WinXP(Fat32) and in Vista(NTFS)
On 2nd try, everything is OK

Sorry for the offtopic, but why in God's name are you using FAT32 on XP? XP doesn't play nice nice too often with that as the main OS partition format.

Hmmm, not sure what would be causing it, especially if it works the second time without running a full system check or anything.
I guess the launcher and client versions are both 7.5611, other then running a full system check again now not sure what else to suggest.
Oh, and FAT32 for windows xp, couple of reasons listed here
NTFS is recommended, but not 100% required.
Edit: I see we've got some weird non bb non html code going on now....

Well, my situation is similar. Maybe someone has answers. I just bought mxo. I installed it and it patched the launcher, and it restarted program like normal. It says launcher is up to date. I then type in my login, and it says client not compatible. Says to restart with full system check thing on. So I do. Well It just keeps restarting it. It never starts patching the game. I try to log in again and I get same error message.

It happened to me once again, this time I had to re-enter my details twice before authenticating properly....
I would assume that the problem is occurring from the Launcher side of things rather than the client itself... a dodgy Launcher patch?

Yeah thats the same thing i see in mine...I didnt try to log in twice because I had to go to work. i will when I get home. Hope it will work. I was a beta tester on this game and liked it back then. I just now went back to it, and it didnt leave a good taste in my mouth when this happened. Oh what is a good server to join?

After the patch i was able to log in fine, now a couple a hours later i just got the client error message. Running full system check then canceling it i was able to log back in ok..

I got something like that, too. When launcher.exe is run to start the game, it creates a matrix.exe file, and then runs that. I think it's your old matrix.exe files that are not being copied over correctly, or something; the launcher.exe as far as I've seen is the correct version.

Removing the old matrix.exe file then trying the launcher again seem's like a quick fix also. It recreated another matrix.exe, now whould this new copy be the current version?

It just happened to me. I went ahead and re-entered my id and pw, but misspelled it, and it went ahead and loaded. I thought that was odd since it was the wrong id and pw, but still logged me in. It scared my so i logged off before jacking in. Then i restarted and it worked fine the first time. Odd.
