Clarification: Memorywipe (spelled MemorywLpe in game) will be held prisoner, located in an exile hideout in Westview on the date in question. She will be helpless, stripped of abilities and clothing, guarded by merovingians. The only thing she'll have on her will be a portable signal booster (and yes I wonder where she'll put it too), so a judicious use of /who and locate luggables should lead you to her. In order to get her to follow you, reds must kill and rez her, she won't follow you unless you give her back the signal booster that drops when she dies...and she follows that person only, unless that person directly tells her to follow someone else.

She will accept clothing and wear it, but will have none on her to start, so if you want her to be able to defend herself then come prepared (items will be returned after the event).

Her fellow machines must supply themselves with antidotes to give her, to counteract the compulsion she has to follow her red captor, and that antidote is only good until she is killed again. If her timer runs out before she is rezzed, then she will recon to the nearest hardline and wait there until she is either given a signal booster or an antidote. If she gets close to a hardline she will load up some abilities....and she will fight when machines are fighting for her (but not unless they are actively fighting). She will still be unable to hyperjump at any time during the event, and unable to use subways or hardlines unless forced to recon. It is highly recommended that you have at least one person in each team that can rez her. If someone picks up a signal booster and trades it to her that isn't in the team that rezzed her, too bad, she follows the one that got her the luggable, case closed.

Once a group has her, she is to be escorted to the Machine bookstore, and once she is sent off to 01 she will be reunited with her captors, or continue on with her machine teammates, depending on who her escort was. If she needs to be with mervs or zionites, then we will have people set up at the respective proxies to recall her there (please do not attack her during the period when she is waiting to be recalled....that will be a 'null time' and she will be marked as AFK until she is where she should be). Once she is with her group, she is fair game again, and the team must make their way to the ramp leading up to the taskmaster's area. The endpoint (and the person who will collect her and declare the winner) will be at the top of that ramp....the winners are the team of the person she is following when she reaches the destination.

Winning will get each member of the team their choice of Quicksilver Gloves or an Overdrive Bandana, which they will receive within a day of winning (to allow us time to code the specific items).

Hehe wow that was long....*ahem* all right so, if you have ANY questions please ask them now. We want this to be as clear and up front as possible, to keep the confusion during the event to a minimum.

Oh, the times for different time zones are: 9am pst, 12noon est, 5pm gmt. Hope to see you there.

#36300309911 08/24/2007 11:33:27 Re:The Hunt for MemoryWipe Event
WOW!!! I sooo wish I could come to this event. If I wasn't working, which I'm sure that I am, my level is too low to let me into Westview, let alone survive the battles.

We need more events like these, especially for newer people like me. There never seem to be great events like this on and I would love to take part in some. Let's get more events like this on and I will definitely work harder at getting to them.

Yes, who knows SMILEY

So...

This starts in 3 hours. Machines need to make sure they have a supply of antidotes, and everyone needs access to someone who has find luggables loaded. Good luck SMILEY

#36300311171 08/26/2007 11:09:33 Re:The Hunt for MemoryWipe Event

That was fun, thx to all that played and gratz to Terminix and Machines for delivering Mem safely to Systematica in 01.

I think Zions were the first to locate her in a Westview hideout no? And they were intercepted by Machines and Mervs by the Midian Proxy where Machs ended up taking control of her and escorting her to 01.

The last stand happened at the ramp leading up to the TM platform, but machines were able to keep control of Mem while waiting for Systematica to arrive

Good job everyone

#36300311175 08/26/2007 11:31:05 Re:The Hunt for MemoryWipe Event
Nice overview Mana, although actually it was EPN that found MemoryWlpe in the abandoned subway and kept control of her almost all the way to the machine's bookstore, fighting off Terminix along the way. Once DE got involved in Midian, it was a free for all, and the machines managed to sneak Mem out and get her to the proxy....only to get killed during teleport by yeaman, hehe. It was touch & go the whole time, and big props to PdS and DE for being so well prepared. Honestly I thought the EPN team had it, they were really on top of things, good job all.

As for the winning team, including Restored, Securlty, Tenessee, and JacksWastedLife (I'm still finding out if that was all that were on the team, will update later if needed), they each have their choice of overdrive dana or quicksilver gloves, please let me know which you prefer. Hehe although I have a fair guess....

On a side note, I'm very glad it ended when it did....those of you participating may have noticed that Mem crashed. Power outages ftl, but at least we were done at that point SMILEY

Very good work on everyone's part.

#36300311323 08/26/2007 15:21:14 Re:The Hunt for MemoryWipe Event
Actually it was. No one knew where I was starting out at except one person whom I trusted not to tell anyone (and no it wasn't anyone in Terminix or DE, just to avoid the whole 'you cheated' comments). The event was won fairly by Mem's factionmates - they had no clue where she was, and she didn't team with them or anything (which would have given them the advantage of seeing her on their map, of course). I made very sure to not give anyone any unfair advantage. The only thing anyone could gripe about was the fact that Mem was shouting for help....but then again, everyone in the area could see that, so it merely put pressure on the group she was following.

Of course her factionmates were going to try to 'save' her....did you expect any different? Everyone had the same opportunity to win, and I am really proud that the people I spend my time with and call friend came through so well, in an event that had a lot of careful planning in it to make sure it was fair.

Usually it's Terminix that is involved in the planning and details and event duty. It was my pleasure to plan something that didn't need them working it, so as to let them participate for once. And they did a hell of a job.

What he said. Like your station name implies.... cant you just say good game and congrats?

Was well thought out Dem, a shame I had to head off to work right as it was starting.... would have loved to team with Terminix to help out... could have used an extra dana too lol.

#36300311672 08/27/2007 07:32:27 Re:The Hunt for MemoryWipe Event
Yeah Tony ML didn't show up til like the very end, didn't really have a chance. Missed you though SMILEY

And Hlew you lost me...f4gf fest? Hehe what's that mean? 2 of the 4 factions that participated the most were DE related - that's some good odds there. Could have easily been changed with more factions participating, so next time grab your boys and play too and maybe you can get a nifty dana instead of us.
