I'm just having a little trouble decoding the icons.
So the blue security badges show the beginning locations of all characters unless they move?
And the circles are objectives/security devices?

I wouldnt trust the map tbh, but thats my view.  Though the little green ones are your objectives. They wont change and are correct.

Yes the badges are the NPCS you need to kill to..but they move.

They usually don't move from the room though.

If there are 3 objective icons it means theres a security system in place if you see that I'll recommend this! kill all the rooms with the blue security badges only, otherwise you have a 6v1 which you usually don't win.

And there's white doors which I think mean there's something relevant to the mission in that room. I wish we had a dynamic map which showed the movements of the NPCs.

My Dream Mission Map

  • Moving red arrows = Hostile NPCs*
  • Moving blue arrows = Friendly NPCs
  • Everything else stays the same

*Would help when NPCs run away from the mission area SMILEY

#36300302772 08/13/2007 04:12:52 Re:Mission Maps

Basically:

Green doors = Entrance (shows even without mission maps)

Badges = NPC (starting possition, since the map doesn't update... Also shows dead NPC in some criticals)

White doors = Special doors. There are basically three kinds: those that you have to unlock with a key (or lock picks), those that unlock when the security system detects you (thus letting out additional guards), and those that trigger events in some criticals.

Green X = computers, mainframes, disable security and basically any clickable objective.

There is an ability for this and I ALWAYS use is.  It's a spy one.  Weather your in a mish or not, it will display the moving red arrow for bad people and a moving blue arrow for friendly.  It makes a cool sound effect when u use it too.

Whoa really? Do you happen to know what it is? Once I hit 50 I might have to level up that tree and see how it works.

Yup, i always use it.  It shows them not for missions either. Like if your farming and click it, it will beep and you see all the bad guys near you. It's just lovely.  An ability seldom known about.  I don't know the name off the top of my head, but add me to your Friends List.  When im ingame ill know its name.

The name is CyanX and i'm on recursion. So if your not, use Recursion.CyanX SMILEY

Latersss

Ah, think I found it. That explains why they didn't do it for regular download mission map. I think I might have to get the ability for my Vector alt when I get to that point.

That ability used to not work. I never saw any patch notes saying it was repaired. I'll have to check it out.
