It has not been stated that you require anything for these as of yet. The newest newbie contact in Uriah did not require for the jacket other than an item gained from Mercury's added mission, likelihood is that it will not require any old items you may have gotten rid of.
However saying that, if you do, and they are not tradeable it looks like there will be a possibility of older players being envious of new players (If the glasses turn out to be desirable) which makes a change!

Clearly havo you break the first rule of Vegas. What happens in vegas stays in vegas, let it be a suprise for all who who didnt go to fan faire to find it out in the patch updates.

Cant wait to see what the female version looks like.  Hopefully it looks even better, just as the Awakened glasses look much better for female than male.
