Long before I joined the game, Buddy Lists (From what screens I have seen) allowed you to custimise groups and name those groups, that way you can have faction mates at the top of your list ans then all friends/contacts further down. After over a year here I have quite a large list and the way I have my HUD set up, I cant have my buddy list large enough to display the online part and would like it so I can get my faction mates at the top of my list so I dont miss then arrive or leave and end up either ignoring them or talking to myself
I think that may be slim, or at least low on the priority list. We lost them when MxO left Monolith and the functionality of AIM, having to change databases to use SOE's format.
If nothing else I'd like to be able to group them better then just "online" "offline"
Would force SOE to change the buddy lists (basically the way their databses are working) in all their games and give them more than these two functions + ignore list :S
I say, chance for that is lower than 0. SOE can't be arsed to do something crossing more than one game of them.
Surly arranging buddy lists into your own groupings would be something client side rather on the database side? The database only needs to report that a player is online/offline. Or are peoples buddy lists stored on the servers? I suppose it will take a bit of re-writing the relevant software to do it tho'
The system for chat is setup using a different server, you can chat with someone on SWG from MxO if you know the server name and character name, opposite is true as well, they'd just have to do this as the name
MxO.Vector-Hostile.Denary (message) and I'll get it, which is why I think they'd have a problem with chat.
