#36300281713 07/13/2007 08:25:11 Systematic Chaos: Official Statement

((Eh, so I rather struggled to come to terms with this truce breaking IC because it rather spits all over my character. My reasons for staying with the org/faction are almost all OOC as IC I struggle to justify recent events, however I'm not an Rp'er first and foremost, so I will not leave my faction or my org for OOC reasons and will have to take on the task of justifying my reasons for remaining.))

Systematic Chaos stood for the truce, since it was formed. There has always been some back and forth between Machines and Zion about trucebreakers and siding with terrorists. However, I don't think any of us saw this day coming, at least so soon. We've now tried gathering as much information as possible, on the decisions that were made.

We still stand for the truce. It is our priority to achieve peace with mankind again. Peace and working together for a better future, that is what we were always working towards with Zion and this truce still intact. We are willing to meet with anyone who wants to discuss peace, to try and find a way to create said peace. That being said, we have logs from the Zion meeting, and those factions who are not interested in rebuilding the truce, they are our enemies. The phrase "Bullet between Systematicas eyes" comes to mind. I'd also like to point out that, inviting E Pluribus Neo to the meeting was a big mistake. E Pluribus Neo will attempt to manipulate you all so that there is no way back for human-machine prosperity. ((We might end up in all kinds of semantics here, if a faction came forward wanting peace and we ended up holding some form of truce with them, eh it'd get messy OOC))

One thing I'd like to focus on is the Zion council. For all those that are still interested in building a world where we work hand in hand for a better future, might want to consider why the Zion council made such an important decision without informing any of you. Such an important decision, without even one little mention? Without discussing it with the Machines to actually get clarity? It just seems rather strange. The council seem to have pulled the wool over all of your eyes in a rather manipulative move which is nothing short of what we've seen before and EPN are doing their best to manipulate you too. As Procurater of The Glitch Society wisely said, there is no plan in place to wage all out war and send every sentinal in Zero One down to New Zion. Hostilities have not picked up in the real, the only true place you can lose your life nowadays. So, the result of the truce being called off at the moment? We no longer allow Zion to awaken the 1% and if found in any restricted areas, such as downtown Agents will begin to track them. There will be no disruption to them in Richland. So, taking up arms as if we are now in World War 4 is a little naive. Negotiation and Diplomacy is the way forward here, those who don't see it that way and take up arms against us? They will be struck down as terrorists.

I can see why the machines called off the truce, as one of our Officers explained: Why this breaks the Truce: We allowed Zion to awaken bluepills because we always had the option of destroying their entire colony of humans if we needed to. With this, "New Zion," this option is no longer available. This is a violation of the Truce. Personally, I feel this is pre-emptive and I struggle to justify, pre-emptively calling of the truce because of what could happen. However, I do see the point of view "what need is there for a new city? Aslong as they keep to the truce nothing will happen". Truthfully, we accept that the Machines somewhat forced Zion into this building a new city, sending Cypherites after them to kill and torture them was as good as breaking the truce, much like overwriting blue pills was; however, discussions needed to be had instead of building this new city. If we had discussed things? We might not be making this statement.

The Cypherites? Our stance doesn't change with them. If the situation arrises, like what happend with Sarv who lied to bluepills when awakening them and killed his own first mate after lying to him when he awakend him, then perhaps our help is warranted. However, we won't go out of our way to aid them and we will not welcome them with open arms, just as we will not rule out definitively that we won't work with them in some capacity.

With all that said, our enemies are those who immediately take up arms against the Machines and have no interest in the progression of mankind hand in hand with the Machines, the ones who have no interest in diplomacy and those who would rather take up arms with E Pluribus Neo in a fit of rage rather than help get everyone back on track. The rebuilding of the truce is our priority, those who hinder us in that are our enemies.

((This statement is formed on what intel we had on Vector, and the actions of Zionites on Vector - this statement might change slightly on Recursion/Syntax))

Yasamuu,

Its good to know Systematic Chaos is thinking through this problem, rather than blindly follow what the agents say. The same thing is happening within The Black Market. We have always been known as a neutral faction. Our only belief being that we should follow profit to whatever end. However, this was alright while there was "Peace" between us all. We could stay under the radar of the Machines and supply people without the risk of doing a deal with the Merv.

Operations in the matrix aside, we need to look at the bigger picture. If Zion had not built this secure city, if Zion had been destoyed. The last outpost of man. How long do you think they would have kept you around?

What im trying to say is. Its no longer Zion vs Machine vs Merovingian, Its Man Vs Machine.

United we stand.....

I will follow up with The Black Markets official stance soon.

I'll fess up to the Systematica line, I have no love loss with her, or Veil. That's more a matter of selfish revenge than political stance.

Aside from those two, and my more-than-slightly uneasy feelings towards EPN's zealotry, I do maintain (or at least try to maintain) a political neurtrality.

I believe that, ultimately, in upholding the Truce. However, i also believe that the Truce was lopsided. If we, and I'm talking about every sentient creature that walks through the matrix: Man, Machine, Exile, are ever going to survive, it's got to be together, and it's got to be through the Matrix. I believe that the machines, without realizing it, built the perfect interface for human-program relations, but we're too damned busy trying to blow each other up to actually realize it.

I understand your turmoil Yas, although I understand it from the other side of the coin.Although, I firmly believe many of your cohorts are only looking at this as a giant "Open Season" sign, as evidenced by their circling of our meeting place last night like a bunch of vultures, but I digress. Your job now is to protect the system and the bluepills, as they are in as much danger as we are now. My job now is to stay alive long enough to see this resolved, and pray to God that there is a way to.

Here's hoping it all works out in the end,

SG

Yet Zion looks to side with E Pluribus Neo rather than save the situation.

All bets are off.

Prepare for war.

After you invite EPN members and an EPN Liaison into your meeting on the eve of the truce breaking, SC still promoted a diplomatic view after that with this statement, we even discussed things with our officers in regards to trying to sort things out with some form of negotiations but Zion decides in their own supreme wisdom that joining an EPN meeting with the Kid and declaring their intent to take up arms is the way forward.

So be it.

You made your bed, now rest in peace in it.

Truce is gone. You're done for.

Desperation makes for strange bedfellows, Yas, and so far, EPN are the only ones to show a sympathetic ear. Do not think we sided with them lightly, there are many who hold...reservations. I myself have expressed some of them, but this is a War, and you take allies wherever you can find em

Every Zionite has worked with E Pluribus Neo whilst the truce was on. You all overstepped your boundaries with 'New Zion' (Great original name by the way), and now you will all face the consequences. You have once again tried to threaten the very System that kept you alive, housed you, and that you so frequently loiter around in. And now this will no longer be the case. Do not linger in one place for too long, because we will be hunting you. Your end shall be humanity's new beginning.

Soluma is part of Niobe's crew. This is why TR got involved. Our fellow zions helped us defend one of our officers. I will actively defend what needs to be defended, but I still want a cooperation between Zion, Mach, and Merv.

As to solutions to fix this problem, I am open to suggestions. Not everyone on either side will submit to this now that the war has been rekindled.
