I've heard 100 suggestions that I'd love to see implemented shot down by the "not possible" argument.

If that's really the case, than what IS possible? What does this game have to potentially look forward to that isn't recycled content?

...anyone?

The reason you get the "not possible" answer to many suggestions is because of a very low player base.  It does take time, effort and MONEY-(THE ROOT OF ALL EVIL), to have many of the things we want in game.  I'm sure the few DEVS working on MxO would love to put the majority of their and our ideas in game.  They just can't because they are few in number and are already multi-tasking as it is.

For example:  I just read/watched an interview on how many people it took to make the opening sequence of the new Transformers game.  I forget how many people but for one to do that the fellow said it'd take about 4 years.

I personally feel the major factor in low subscribers to this game is severe lack of advertising on all the major companies involved-SOE, Monolith and Warner Bros.  I to this day have seen one page in one magazine and that was a few months after the game came out.  I found out about MxO through the extras on the DVD of the films.  To this day I was hard pressed to find it having it's own little space on the SOE site like the majority of their other games.  I still see quite a few new players however, they are usually gone before you can say, "What is the Matrix?"  An example of next to no ads for MxO would be that I recently tried COH under a free trial and spammed MxO in there.  Many people never heard of the game at all.  Games like WOW and Everquest still have ads gong to this day, I see them on a regular basis.

Two Machine operatives in my faction just told me last night they are leaving the game (sadly), due to the fact there is nothing really to look forward to.  In spite of how much potential even they see the game has.  They figure they'll rinse and repeat untill lvl 50 then stand around and HOPE something happens like I've done since launch.  Haha, I guess they don't wanna end up like me.  Very wise of them.  This also stemmed from me taking them downtown with my Zion character to show them the new threat level regarding the ending of the truce.  We stood dowtown for over 30 minutes and I did not get attacked by Agents.

Another reason for low subscriptions is that the game was released before it was finished.  Yes, all games have bugs etc.  Look how boring the mission system has always been.  I was expecting ahelluvalot more personally.  Truce or no truce.  Why aren't there any police in game?  No police cars parked or in the traffic?  No fire men or fire/rescue vehicles in the traffic or parked?  We have many bus stops but where are the buses?  Police, fire and bus stations?  Where were the Generals helicopters coming from?  No army base or airport.  New subscribers jack in and see all this and figure it out for themselves rather quickly and leave.  Where are the news helicopters coming from?  I don't see any type of building anywhere in the city that represents "Channel 6 news" for example.  Many of these things are merely aesthetic, for the look and feel of the Matrix as it's supposed to represent a city in modern times.  I feel it's failed to do that since launch but still hang around for some glorious moment when these things are added.  My faith is gone, I'm a tired old man and can't continue to help and recruit new players who end up leaving after all the help I've given them.  I can't blame them either.

I could go on and on but meh. . .
