Well... the buffs are certainly questionnable based on the work required for the item, however I was prepared to work it and hopefully it would be really useful.

Now there is a serious issue here.

White = Healing without headgear, Red= Healing with.
Now you might look at that and say... that's no 40% increase, you are right.

Now as a Trauma Surgeon I have 38% area healing bonus. We never knew the cap, because we simply never hit it, until now.
As you can see below, the area heal radius caps at 50%, the patchers headgear gives 40% bonus. Now let me point out "Resist Damage" is a lvl 6 ability and is needed for ANY Area heal or buff loadout, so you already have the 23%.

So.... basically, the bonus is useless as long as the 50% bonus cap exists. This is a hard item to get and takes a lot of time, at least make sure the buffs it gives are actually worthwhile.

So what needs doing? Lift the Area and heal radius cap, or say cap it too 80%.

Good find.  I remember during Blue Sky, when CR2 first rolled out, the radii were bugged on both heals and hacks.  I could hack an entire concert site with one blow if I wore the right clothing and stuff.  Of course, they fixed it, and with that fix apparently came this cap.  Raise needed!

Also considering the workload to get one it should not break as fast as it does, or there should be a method of trading in a broken headgear + x number of corrupted codes and getting a replacement, as it stands it ludicrous.

A few weeks work for a few hours/days use does not balance out well.

Hmm looks like way back when it was decided that 50 (or 1 per level, even) was a good default cap for everything... Silly caps...

As far as I know, the rifles are supposed to degrade very, very quickly.  There's a reason involving them being construct items that I don't quite remember.

With the messon rifles, it was something along the lines of they were from a previous version of the Matrix, and weren't very compatable with the current version. Therefore, they would break down very quickly in the current Matrix.

The cap should definitely come off since area buffs and heals were nerfed to team members only.

The insane stun rate is by FAR not as insane as that of the clamors (and since the clamors shoot way faster than rifles, in comparison to the mesons, clamors are insane). I understand that logic of former versions, really, BUT WHY THE HELL DO THEY GIVE A USELESS BOSS DROP? Heck, they should at least change the bossdrop.

Their also a lot easier to get than the headgear or Clamors for that matter.  Therefore I think their degradation rate is fine as is.  With the headgear however, that's shocking that they break so fast, these are by far one of the hardest items to get in the game.  Hopefully this is fixed before I get mine.

Bah, a lot of things about the corruptors need tweaking but nothing was done with 53. Wouldn't hold your breath.

Tried getting a Heavy Meson Rifle MkII?

I have killed the 0-1 Taskmaster close to 200 times and I have only ever gotten 1 H-Meson MkII (though I have shared a lot of his loot while farming TM Heads)  It is a Level 40, so damage isn't brilliant and its stun rate is better than the Clamors but it is slower so I think it is fairly even.

In another thread about the Mesons I suggested that there was a special trade, you need all 6 Meson Rifles and trade it in for a Heavy Meson Rifle MkIII, that way they can balance it a bit more, mabey even give it a different color 'laser' to the others and with 3 of the Mesons only available in 1-0, it would actually give that construct a bit of use aswell as give lower levels a chance to earn some better info.

ON TOPIC: Wasn' t the cap dropped in Patch 53, I am sure I read something on one of the patchers headwear... SMILEY
