#36300266784 06/22/2007 09:27 Sticking it to the man.

I've always woundered what this game would be like if things were done slightly different around here...Ever since I first started playing did I want the devs to listen more to what the players want and think rather then what they want and think... It's not about the devs or CSRs it's about the players and I feel we are the only thing that can save this game from dying as most people think it is. I, however, don't think this game is dying I believe people are just tired of not getting what they want. So what I always thought was what if this game was run by the players and the devs just help get the players what they want? It's a crazy thought but all the same a good one... Now what I always thought was what if the players if the vast majority wanted something in the game and the devs didn't have the funding or the man power to make it happen I purpose something be done. If everyone wants something badly enough we should be able to get it if we help fund it. So what I purpose is if alot of people want something that would really help this game I think those players could pay alittle more maybe 10 or 20 bucks more a month to reach a goal which is the content that they want. I also feel that if a large number of players want something the devs should drop everything they are doing and get right on it if the funding is provided by the players and the ideas aswell...

I for one think that the matrix online is great like it is but it can be so much more. Something alot of vetran players wanted and dreamed about for two years... And the devs should listen to us. Some of us, myself inculded have been through it all. Now mind you I wasn't in the first beta but I did help make cr2.0 better. I've been through it all in this game and even though I feel the devs are doing a good job with events and some bug fixes and other things like missions and stuff... I feel that if alot of the players are willing and able to help this game to be something better then we should be given the opertunity...

Now I'm not rich but if alot more people were behind me I would gladly pay 30 bucks or 25 or whatever a month to get the content we want so badly. As long as I know it's going to what I and alot of other people want then I'm fine with it and I'm sure alot of other players wouldn't mind it either...

This is just an idea that popped into my head, it's not well thought out but it is something I had to share with all of you. Because if alot of people feel they can do nothing for this game but watch the devs give us random content then alot of people are gonna stop waiting for what they want and leave the game. I for one will not be one of these people. I love this game and all of the content in it, however, I cannot speak for everyone.

This is only an idea and I want to know what the rest of the community thinks about it.

You propose "sticking it to the man" by paying the man more money?

This needs a rethink.

I agree with you skull86 i myself would be happy to pay more if we had what we wanted im all for paying £19.99 a mounth thats not the end of the world ,If we are geting more content then im happy

this line of thinking is vaguely worrying, because it suggests that paying what you're paying now per-year is acceptable for lots of some recycled content, and you need to go on a spend splurge to actually get hold of something with a little depth and longeivity to it whose replay value isn't either based on standing around waiting, or farming six million frags from six million fly monsters.

in other words, want awesome? then pay through the nose, or else here's a hat that shoots party streamers.

You did NOT just diss party hats...

if i could bend over and fire bullets out of them into peoples faces, I'd have been happy. Even a cannonball.

but no, they had to go and make them festive!

Wow....Your not flaming people, Your basically flaming the thread and MxO.
...please explain how equating useless party hats as a symbol of content you're already paying a lot of money for (in terms of then having to pay MORE to get your hands on something better) is somehow "flaming" the game and / or the thread.

Its sort of hard to make a comment on the game in relation to the topic of the thread without actually citing any examples of elements from the game that may or may not go towards expressing my opinion on that which is being discussed.

Its also sort of hard to disagree with the original posters idea by saying that paying more money to get more content is a bad idea, when you're already having to make do with recycled work for the games static content, without actually mentioning it.

Yet somehow you do, and its a "flame". I'll remember to blindly agree with everything ever posted in future - I forgot debate was supposed to involve a unanimous chorus of one-sided approval and agreement.

Well, skull, the reason why some of us think it's dead is because the game is not upgradeable.  In other words, what you see is what you get.  So, while every other game that released in the same timeframe is now on their 2nd and 3rd expansion this game will be stuck telling stories in Springfield (what are they on the 19th season this fall) until people get tired of it.   If you like PvP'n, and don't care if it never changes.  Stick around.

And, don't get me wrong.  I don't think it's the devs fault. But, these guys must of F'd up real good to get this assignment and stick with it.
