I think it would be about time that there was added some real good in-game music. I think i turned the music off only a few months i got the game.

Dont you think it's time to lay down some real good tracks for this game? When you look at the games today, they have real good music and sounds effects.

Well, just a though...what do you think?

I personally think this game has best ingame music than any MMOs ive played, I really like it in ashencourte, but if its not your taste, just type

/radio play http://www.theapocradio.com/listen.asx

=)

Personally, I like the game music as it stands now.  Typically, I'll turn it on for a while (several days or weeks of play) before I feel like going back the radio or my iTunes playlist.  However, there always comes a time weeks later when I feel like hearing that in-game Don Davis soundtrack again, and the cycle repeats itself.  In fact, when I go back to turning the game music on after having listened to radios/playlists, it's really rather refreshing and immersing.  For me, it brings back memories of back when I first started playing the game and tosses a fresh perspective on things.  Still, a few more new tracks would be rather cool, but I hardly see the likes of Don Davis coming back here to lay down a few more Matrix-y beats for us now.  I'm happy with how it is.  =D

Heck, if they could get more in the same vein for battle music so it's not the same distorted scream every time I start fighting, that would be cool.. but the ambient music is really quite nice.

Not that I know of, but I know this handy little utility can export all of your iTunes playlists into .M3U format, which is playable by WMP (which is what the in-game radio uses to play stuffs).  Hope that helps!!  SMILEY

All in-game sounds seem to break in window mode or if you do a ALt-Tab. I guess that's why I turned off the in-game music over a year ago SMILEY

I especially liked the sound in the church! Um.. anybody knows if there's a sountrack CD for MxO anyways?

None that I've ever heard of or seen for sale anywhere.  I do know that .wav files can be found in you MxO Root\resource\music folder, but they are only segments of each 'track,' which is by design given how they 'instance' music in-game (using DirectMusic software, I think).  I started working on pasting them together to form seamless tracks a while back, but got busy...suppose I should work on completing that so I can add an MxO playlist to my iTunes!

*Edit:  I just noticed in 6 posts you'll be 1337!  SMILEY

I personally just play in windowed mode and leave iTunes running in the background. But the ingame radio/playlist is useful as well, just find some good soundtracks and you're set.

Just turn on ur radio and turn it of and voila music.

It'd be nice if they just took all the   music from the movie soundtracks, those were pretty badass.  I imagine the only problem with that is the amount of money that might have to be paid for licensing and such...

The music from the movies would be a real cool add. to the game!!

I did a small Google seach and found some sites about game music.

If your iPod is identified by a drive letter, I think it's possible to play songs off of that via the in-game radio function.  Never tried, but I know you can do it with CDs in the CD drive.

Altough, I truly agree.

Maybe add some Animatrix Music could be a great idea.

Don't you think?

Hey, what about the music from the Blue Sky event, did they come out on CD? I think Mxo should a make a DvD with all the best music and in game video's for us.

Thats exactly why I never have the ingame music on.  I cant stand the battle music it just puts me right off
#36300265908 06/21/2007 04:27:39 Re:Game music
I think the In-Game music deliberately sucks for a specific reason: To encourage the players to tune into radio stations. Personally I dont waste my Internet bandwidth with radio streams. The best idea is indeed to play yo own music in any form: CDs, iTunes, MP3, $whatever. There's even ways to "abuse" the in-game radio client to play your own local playlists like a radio station; the in-game radio uses Windows Media Player core libraries.

Um, don't worry--it's not "abuse". It's supposed to work that way. The /radio command also contains switches to let you name your favorite stations so you can call them back up again at any time. ^_^
