EDIT:
Lol @ Flood complaining about mess.
I cant wait to hear more on that project your planning.
And I was one of the Merovingian spies that was spying on Pace
I love how involved we are in the story.
In Game Promotions? This sounds like it could be items like Mobius Code. It was obtainable only during that event. So perhaps similar type of things here, then again i might be totoaly wrong..either way it sounds fantastic, cant wait to hear more.
We're currently working with our marketing guru to get some in game promotions to run across all servers. The proposal is pretty exciting and would take the help of some of the community at large. The event would be pretty interesting since it's something that it uniquely MxO. I can't really go into further details about it since we'll need to get closer to it going live for all the goodies to be revealed.
Let's just say this is a great, innovative, and uniquely MxO event/promotion.
I think I might need to resub now...
hehe
TH
Hmm.I'm not gonna resub if I don't know what it is.
I think I might need to resub now...
But hey, if it means much: I am curious though.
I don't know what you're saying, but it seems like you're bent on promoting the game... from inside the game?
I think there's a fault in that logic.

We don't really need updates on buddy keys. We've been through it before, and the trial periods have always proven to be a success. When are the higher-ups going to start seeing that people want to play this game, and start allocating funds to the project to market it?
We have the term "in-game promotions" to speculate over. You say you can't go into further detail, when in point of fact you really didn't go into any detail at all other than it's "exciting", "innovative", and "uniquely MxO". Seems like kind of a cop-out.
And to sum it all up, we have a summary of the live events that occurred over the last week. Anyone can check the Live Events boards and get the exact same recap with pictures included, or they could just check out the weekly Community Uplink. Are live event recap-recaps just a way of filling up space for the Looking Glass article?
Where's the news about the upcoming Corrupted quest? The latest image retrievals have stirred up a lot of buzz about what could be in store for this, but it's not mentioned at all in Through The Looking Glass.

These articles have always been a highly anticipated source of development information every week for the community, and they've always been a great way to end a Friday. These last few articles leave something to be desired.
/yawn.
I think we should at least get some hint on what the event is going to be. Because these weekly editions are basically nothing.
Thanks for the quick run-down of events Raijinn. With things the way they are for me in the Real lately I don't have time to go through all the live event stuff all the time. I barely have time to Jack-in. hahaha. That overview helps me out a great deal. ;D
Cheers!
This is a lie it gets outsiders exited and like above makes them re-sub. Ooo SOE I like it!
hehe
TH
If they are going to lie to get more subs, they should have said that they have been given everything by SOE to make an expansion for MxO
Eitherway, this does sound very intriuging.
The promotion sounds interesting... as long as it's coupled with some sort of new player intake (another buddy key or the perma trial) then it will be definately be a good idea, especially if it coencides with rare's extension of the newbie trail.
If it's not timed right then it'll just be another wasted opportunity like these current wave of keys are.
As for the article itself, you're our CRM raijinn, Community Relations Manager. Don't be afraid to tackle Community Issues in these articles either, its what they're for. A full public explaination of name changes would've been nice for a start.
It'd be wierd trying to RP when you see a billboard with 'Jack In. The Matrix Online' pasted up there.

I am very curious about what the promotions are.
I still think these Looking Glass articles are severely lacking.
I agree with the above point, there certainly needs more info on these. However, Rai is still getting into the role, and I'm sure he'll get better at it as time goes by. Remember there were times when even Walrus just talked about office competitions!
I am intrigued by promotion aspect of it, obviously it's pointless advertising the game 'in game' unless they are trying to make web adverts of in game sequences... Still it'll be fun trying to work it out, I just hope the community at large isn't disappointed when it is revealed.

Perhaps someone could help me out, because I've obviously missed something along the way.
The last I saw of Seraph he was still on his corrupted madness trip. What happened in between then and his 'return' to The Oracle?

I was dissappointed about that aswell, untill the archives come out, unless you are Zion (possibally mach) you dont hear much on it, he just changed

I still think these Looking Glass articles are severely lacking.i would agree...

He finished removing the programs from all the overwritten people he could find, so he went back to Oracle

The problem I think most people are having is the fact that the article *IS* different and again I've made it rather clear that it *WILL* be a different article so it is what it is.
I'm all for giving out as much dev info as possible but the simple fact is that information isn't going to come about every week.
Sorry folks.

It is understandable, to a point. I agree, in so far as my understanding of the situation goes, the reason your articles seem to lack the same in depth information is because you are in fact not really involved with MxO outside of being its CRM. Walrus was also the production managers, so he had a very in depth knowladge of what was going on. However, because I understand that does not mean I have to enjoy it. We here at the MxO community [and if you disagree you can post as much] have come to expect a certain level of "service" from the communications we get from our CRMs. To go from the page+ long OSOTLG's from Walrus, to your three paragraph copy paste "lip service" postings is a huge let down. We were all told to give you a chance [hell, Walrus sent me a PM to do as much before he left O_x], and I think we have and still are. But just because we're giving you that chance, doesnt mean we cant vocalize what we would like to see an improvement in. We pay our $15, and one of the things we've come to expect is the weekly read from these articles. I dont think it is unfair of us to ask you to beef them up, especially when you do show a more in depth approach to some of the other games that you also are the CRM of.
-Trace
Anyway, as a CRM, I thought it's part of the job to get involved with the community?
Apart from getting some scoops about future content, or small hints, whatevever, Walrus was also pretty involved with the community itself.
And when something got out of hand on the forums, or a major exploit/bug was found, or whatever big thing there was: We could read about it on friday and sometimes there was a solution given as well, but at least we knew the MXO team was working on improving what the players found out.
If this all cannot be done anymore then so be it. I can understand that.

And when something got out of hand on the forumsApparently the new shift in CRM has also included a shift to "shhh dont rock the boat, and never admit it if the boat did in fact rock"
