Just out of curiosity... what exactly is RAF about that the admins are shaking their Knees about??? From what i can remember RAF stands for Royal Air Force... but then i guess there's another negative implications that they are trying to not discuss about it here?

So if there was a faction called "EZLN", would it get treated the same way?

If there was a faction called "EMO", would they knife themselves?

Hehe, I dunno. I just felt like posting something stupid.

It seems that RAF would go along with the Royal Air Force, becuase "US Air" was also in the signatures.

What if some started a faction called Red Army...... they all wore 'Demon Army Trenches', they would be known as The Red Army Faction..... SMILEY

I also thought it was Royal Air Force, it would have been a very small amount of people that knew about those guys.

My 2 cents:

MxO is NO PLACE for the use of names/insignia pertaining to political/terrorist/extremist/religious groups or even 'secret societies'.

Keep your personal politics and affiliations to yourself and out of the game, none of us need another's politiking shoved down our throats.

Thanks, and play on!

...but do you more readily associate "RAF" with an obscure german terrorist group, or the royal air force that made the acronym popular in the first place?

"RAF" has numerous, numerous meanings - and I'd suggest that the german terrorist group are likely way down on the list of things that spring to mind when hearing "RAF". I mean, you could likely assign some sort of negative connotation and / or association to 90% of the words, terms, phrases and acronyms currently in use. if someone creates something objectionable tomorrow under the banner Novus Imperium, are they going to demand that faction be scrubbed too?

by placing so much weight and importance to the german terrorist group in relation to the letters RAF, Sony are effectively saying german terrorists are what are most strongly associated when you hear the term RAF, and not the English air pilots that took on the Luftwaffe - which in itself is vaguely ironic, and vaguely offensive...especially as the red army faction likely chose the acronym RAF to dilute and tarnish the most widely accepted meaning of the term in the first place.

Exactly, I have never gone to the Sunderland International Airshow, a bloke hands me lots of leaflets on the RAF and think: 'How dare you try and recruit terroists in the middle of a airshow, now excuse me the Royal Air Force's Red Devils are doing their display.'
