Well i have noticed today that my loading areas total space caps out at 495 slots, yet the meter that was implemented recently shows the total to be 520.

I am just wondering is this a glitch or is there 25 slots of upload space reserved for something, its just slightly annoying to think you have space for abilitesand then get the upload failed message due to full loading area.

I know what you mean, if you see in this screen, I dont have the max code archive but when I try to put something in you can see on the system chat that it says I am full....

Dang beat me to it, i was gonna put up a screenie.

Oh well, this ilustrates the problem quite clearly, now a dev comment is in order SMILEY

They call me quick draw McGraw round these parts SMILEY

Now I hope they open the last 45 places and not just change the 520 to 475 SMILEY

it caps out at 480 with me, and hella annoying.
the only solution i found is to clear up some space by removing frags and bits f/e awakaned subroutines, codebit 8's etc

I believe part of the explaination is the fact that the 'styles' for each treee take 1 space each.

Has anyone tried counting their stuff?  Maybe the meter doesn't reflect something.

well im not sure if i was getting 495, i just rember seeing a 4_5 and i thought it was close to 90 , slight error on my part, but i do believe it was 475 for me.

I am pretty sure you have to include the abilities that you have loaded in this total.  Otherwise, you wouldn't be able to switch trees, because certain trees take more memory with less abilities loaded and vise-versa.  IE.  Someone loading all awakened abilities  (costing one memory slot a piece) and a single tree, can load more abilities than someone with no awakened stuff loading a ton of different trees, in which many of the abilities cost 3 or 4 memory slots.  Hope that made sense....
#36300214657 04/15/2007 16:57:39 Re:Loading area capacity meter Glitch ?
hmm , but each ability , regarless of memory cost take's 1 slot in the code archive, also i think the loaded abs don't leave the code archive when there loaded.
#36300214658 04/15/2007 16:59:31 Re:Loading area capacity meter Glitch ?
But what I'm saying is that different loadouts can use different amounts of abilities depending on what abilities are loaded, therefore giving you discrepancies between individual players and how much space they have left.

Ah, of course, I will have to count and make sure I have 45 abilities loaded, if I have, that is what it is.

Actually, I know for a fact that they are not in your code archive when they are loaded.  If you try and shuffle trees to an alt, they will not appear in the code archive for swapping if you have them loaded on your toon.

No, when they are loaded, they DONT appear in your archive, I had an ability loaded and found a fully leveled one on the MP very cheap, so instead of paying to level mine I bought the abil and swapped it on the MP for the price I just bought the fully leveled one.  Anyway, when I went to the LA to retrieve the unleveled one I couldn't find it, I was looking for a while then I unloaded it and found it.

Exactly.  If an ability is loaded, it will not appear in your code archive.

Therefore, the system has to keep however many abilities you have loaded free in the code archive, otherwise you would not be able to unload down to awakened due to space constraints.

Tarrega is right.  I  unloaded everything that I could and my meter was at 518/520.  I hate being full SMILEY

This has been discussed before but the code archive is just not big enough. My main is a coder and i was forced to move some of my trees to an alt to make room for code bits/frags/code charges. This is really annoying as im a pvper and i would like to code and have all the trees to choose from in pvp. But with an alt i found a workaround, still how hard would it be to increase the limit by 100 or so.

It may require server space that the devs aren't willing give up.

Rarebit has said he isn't increasing code archive space, but he hasn't said anything about increasing the stack size.
