Not sure if this has made it onto the forums already somewhere else - but I just wanted to get the communities opinion on the current situation (at least on Recursion) where (a) certain CSR(s) have been holding White Room parties (which in itself is not even THAT upsetting) but then giving away things such as Beta Gear, Mobius Code(s), Stat Hacks and Hyperjump Beta(s).

I don't know how you feel about this but these are items that were either given to "special" players (Beta Testers, Pre order people) or like in the case of the Mobius Code to people who already were a part of MxO at a certain point in the storyline and to just give away these items now (at WHITE ROOM parties to boot) is IMO just a slap in the face to the people who have been here for a very long time and sorta "earned" these things.

Personally I do not appreciate actions like this at all.....

Wonder how big the outcry would be if people had gotten Assassin's Masks - I mean why not? They were also exclusive items given to a select group of players for accomplishing something. But hey who cares - let's hand themn out for trivia questions! Whohooo

Steelle also got one for pinpointing Morpheus's position on Syntax a few weeks ago.

My point was more that you should have to take part in a Rarebit live event to get an item like that. I mean, there's something storyline-oriented behind that object that way, even if it was just chatting with Sunshine and racing her, or doing the most damage to an Unlimit officer. Rather than... beating some other folks from Mara in a whiteroom tournament.

I'm not trying to hold everybody to the standard that I had to go through to get mine, just the standard in general - the story-driven Live Event. That's all.

The point I was making by saying "you can do 8 months of work..." was more to prove why I feel this way, and why I don't want them to just be handed out to anyone who can answer a Brewko trivia question right. They should at least do something story-oriented, in my opinion.

I dont understand how people can *CENSORED* about this, honestly. The pvp competition in the white room was an awesome idea and the first really tailored towards pvpers. Just cause the white room was used and done by brewko people are complaining. get a grip, our devs are snowed under with fixing other crap we *CENSORED* about constantly, why not let brewko take some of the load.

I wasnt beta, I could care less about having beta clothing. I was one of the people who was brought in to the white room. I recieved Mobius and a stat hack. I know mobius was considered a vet ability. But then it was given to trial players. I heard many of u vets that complained about trial players getting it then, but imagine how the people like me who joined after the destryoer but before the free trials were feeling double screwed.

Brewko u gave betajump to people- and u gave me a stat hack? can I trade? SMILEY j/k

The one thing that I got out of the tourney-(besides the rewards) was imagining the white room being a new construct where all levels could go, no npcs to fight, but no where to run or hide pvp.

YES.... all those pvp jumpers and runners will find out how crap they really are when they cant get away. I admit in some situations jumping is ok but doing it non stop is down right annoying. They dont die and get cq from team kills and think they are top *CENSORED*.

Exactly what happened to me, it sucked. it wasnt clear. And now i have an account with non of the items I PAYED FOR!! Thats right i payed!!! I payed for this game, i payed for the trial at the start which came with the "goodies" and i missed out cos SOE cant make a sign up thing clearer!!

Because...

1) people will cry favoritism because you probably can't fit the entire server in white rooms.
2) It kinda caused people to miss an actual event

Not flaming, I'm just saying that it's not a good idea to do this kind of stuff and then give away stuff that would otherwise be unattainable.

this is not an event, this is a pvp challenge in which brewko picked ppl. why would there be roleplayers/noobs that dont pvp involved. this is content directly aimed at pvpers, if u want in... pvp more. this will cause alot more ppl to pvp simply to be around when brewko shows up and develop their skills for a chance to win. i see this as a better way of actually getting rewards as it relies on skill rather then pure luck. this will also increase the numbers in pvp and make pvp more fun generally.

i think your talking about the mxo trivia which is unrelated to your first point. but ill answer it anyway.

well this was the first time it was done and i bet brewko and rarebit would have talked about it afterwards. i also think that rarebit and brewko will probably be working more closely with this in the future to ensure they dont step on each others toes.

3) I thought this was rarebit's job...

rarebit has lots of jobs and i think giving a little bit of responsibilty to someone else isnt a big issue. u cant expect rarebit to do everything.

remember they are just testing these new ideas and they are not perfect but im sure the issues can be worked out. i see the devs and csrs actually listening to us more lately which is great, im excited to see new things happening now.

Is it honestly going to take brewko to post an apology to people for giving out beta clothing. It shouldnt. Rarebit already stated it was a mistake to do so and wont happen again.

These pvp tourneys are cool- maybe not to non pvpers, the rewards are a bonus. So keep em coming brewko.

For those who dont like pvp and are mad they havnt gotten any of these items, do as Neoteny and earn one -the way u like to play the game.
