I recently installed the game and the mouse-over descriptions aren't working at the moment.  before I uninstalled the game they worked perfectly.  I installed through the software I bought on launch in 05, not sure if that's the problem or not.  Currently I'm doing a full system check.

Also the music has seemed to want to leave.  It no longer works either.

recent patch problem, or is it just me?

EDIT:
Full sys check didn't fix anything.

There is an option in the "Advanced Mode" of the graphics screen, i believe its "UI Tips" Make sure its ticked.

yeh it's not always working, sometimes it will sometimes it wont, and the sound usually leaves if you mess around with the sound options.

Always been there for me. On the buffs under the hotbar i have to click on the left-most one to see any of the descriptions, and the sound goes off every time i alt-tab. Usually fixes if i change the volume or toggle the radio tho

well I'm just sticking to my usual where I experience every single type of bug available, trust me it's not as annoying as crashing when you die, or crew bugged where you have to be booted to leave a crew and can't create crews yourself.

theres a similar bug where if you have more buffs than you can fit onto one line and hte buff bar expands onto a second, none of the buffs on the second bar will show any tooltips and the first bar will rarley show tooltips either.

I've had the same problem on my computer with the item descriptions/pictures not showing up. First off, i'd make sure ur graphics card driver is up to date, especially if ur running vista. Another tip for vista users, if something isn't running right try right clicking on the client icon, go to properties>advanced>run as admin. This works for games that aren't starting up as well as problems such as the one you described. Hope this helps ya.

Not to long ago, the hover windows bugged for me, they still showed up but the text and image had moved up the box so it was sticking out the top slightly.  A quick relog fixed this.

Ok, so I just installed Windows Vista and after re-installing the game, I am having some issues with the loading area and the Inventory. Loading area turns into an assortment of myriad colored squares and makes it so I have to alt+ tab to get out of the game and then ctrl + alt + delete to be able to turn it off. Also, the inventory while in the matrix turns into colored squares. Everything else is running just fine though, but this is really bugging me.

I am running Windows Vista 64 bit Home premium, 2 gig of RAM, GeForce 8600gt xfx graphics card and an Intel Core 2 CPU 1.87 GHz processor.

Anyone have any good suggestions? I followed Admirals advice on the posting here, but still nothing.

Any and all help appreciated

Good_Game_son has the right idea--I've got this same problem, and it ties into clothing.  I believe the trigger is the color palette:  any time I put on a particular red dress, the interface wigs like you're describing.  If I take it off again, everything's fine.  Other shades of red don't trigger it, though.   But the purple beret will.

This may have to do with Vista's attempts to bypass the CPU with graphics rendering instructions and write straight to the GPU.  Like you, I don't have the latest & greatest card (Radeon X850 for me--prolly same age as your 8600), so the only solution might be to upgrade.

Personally, I'm holding off on any attempt to fix Vista until it's been out for a good solid year.  And even then I'll let DX 10 hardware be on the market for a while (anyone heard about DX 10.1?  There's your reason to wait)
