Amazing. Especially for someone that started not so long ago.

The only thing I noticed is the bullet trail seems to indicate that the bullet was fired from a different angle than you... but then again that would make sence seeing as you're jumping...
Hmm...

Guess it's nothing then. =P

Yea I was thinking the same thing, I would guess that his movement in the air would be nothing in the time it took that bullet to travel that far...hmm but I am probably wrong.

Anyways, that looks incredible and I look forward to seeing some more work of yours in the future.

SMILEY  THANKS GUYS!!!

Yea, I thought alot about the angle of the bullet belive it or not. I even watched the "neo dodge" scene on the roof in Matrix 1. After watching the amount of movement neo makes while the bullets are flying past him I thought the distance of travel seemed pretty accurate. But more than that I didnt worrie about it alot becasue i figured most poeple would pick up on the movement of my RSI and disreguard the angle diffrence.

Im actually more proud of the exit wound than the bullet ripple.  I wish I could take credit for it, but im still a tottal photoshop n00b, I only followed Sykins Ehancement tutorial, And phi's Bullet ripple tutorial VERY and I mean VERY closely. But the bullet, the exit wound, and if you notice the little slight smoke trial comeing from the bullet all the wat to the muzzle of the gun, THATS ALL ME.  Had to figure that out on my own.

All in all, there was about 6-7 hours of photoshop time put into this one. Like i said  Im pretty proud of it. Im kinda takeing it one step at a time. Next I'll probobly do lighting and/or Reflections... THEN... I'll try and do one that has EVERYTHING in it.  Only thing im worried about is i still cant get the "water splashys" or that "wet look" in the rain.  Wish Pyracy ould teach my how to do that  SMILEY

THANKS AGAIN GUYS.   Im still so excited  (been wanting to do this stuff for so long.)
#36300179134 03/03/2007 16:17:43 Re:Imax's Pictue Thread
it's good, the only thing I can say is that you just need to work on keeping the image the same with sharpness and blur on the same guy, and the hand doesn't look quite right either.
#36300179177 03/03/2007 18:40:56 Re:Imax's Pictue Thread
Aye that exit wound is very nice!

You know... it actually makes sense for the smoke trail to be bent a bit near the tip of the gun. If you think about it, your character is flying sideways as the bullet is flying straight forward through the dude. With that in mind, the bullet's ripple and smoke trail should be dead straight, while the smoke trailing from the gun should be bending away from where the bullet first left the gun. Of course, it's probably a bit too far, since bullets move insanely fast and you probably wouldn't have flown through the air far enough for it to be noticable... but it's at least slightly realistic SMILEY

I'd be more worried about the fact that your finger isn't still on the trigger. Unless you fire guns with your thumbs.... SMILEY

LOL,  I know exactly what you mean, and i appreaciate your attention to detail concerning the realism of the picture. Im really a perfectionist when it comes to realism my self. I thought about the whole trigger finger thing, the problem is in order to fix that it basicly needs to be redrawn. Thats just the way the character model is in the screenshot. If you look at the original youll notice i DID actually redraw part of the hand holding the gun. I added more thumb to the pistol grip and even made sure it had the correct shadeing and light source compared to the rest of the hand.

However fixing the trigger finger was a bit beyond my talent. It would take more than clever use of the smudge, burn, and dodge tool to correct that graphic error. SMILEY

#36300179320 03/03/2007 23:54:01 Re:Imax's Pictue Thread
You should experiment with the Clone tool, if you haven't already. I use it all the time in Paint Shop Pro to replace UI elements with simple background parts. I even used it once to erase the in-game map and replace it with carpeting. It usually only works well for small things... like erasing fingers from the front of a gun to make it look like they're still on the trigger SMILEY

Ive got an idea i want to do. I'd like to do an enhanced image of someone else screenshot. I was never the best and takeing screenshots but some of you out there can take some GREAT ones.

I'd like anyone or everyone to post a link to an unaltered ingame screen and i will pick the one i like the best to try my stuff on. Note i said link, dont post the actual picture, make a link to it or somthing (i just want to keep the consistancy of this thread the same, Only enhanced images shown, and the originals in links, like in my posts earlier.)

Very nice work, Imax.  One thing I have to mention that hasn't been mentioned yet, however, is the earpiece.  Sure it's a little nitpicky, but you should try to make it so that the cord doesn't just end up going into your neck somewhere... then again, if you really are a terminator, I guess that wouldn't be such an odd thing  lol

LOL,  no im not a friggin terminator SMILEY   But the terminator is just so cooooooo.

Yea i actually did extend it down in the Rain pic, but i didnt in the bullet time pic, and the reason is I didnt want to screw up LOL, shamless.

#36300369845 12/12/2007 23:35:30 Re:Imax's Picture Thread
Its been a while since I tried my hand at a genuine enhancement pic. Started out I wanted to make a winter sig, then I decided it wanted it to stand out from the cheery winter sigs going around this year. But ended up working on an entire picture. So here it is 'Dark Winter'.I hope it comes across cold. I'm not real happy with it, just couldn't really make things look very wet. And I wanted to steer clear of snow, and stick with a more freezing rain look, because snow is usually associated with happy, and I wanted it to look miserable.

Thanks for the kind words guys.  I still think it might look a little to dark for yall, so i saved a 2nd version just upped the brightness some. Hopefully some of the detail can be seen now that wasnt seen befor. Mainly the rain in front of my char, water on the ground, and the ground itself lol.

Hey, i don't know if your going to still do this or what not.  But i've always been really really good at taking screenshots.  Just never great at editing them.  I'm not patient enough to learn all there is about photoshop.  ( I am patient however in waiting hours for the right screenshot SMILEY ).  Anyways ill hook you up with a couple of some recent screenshots.  I'd love to see what you can do with them.  I'm certain they will become amazing.
