I have a question regarding Windows XP on my laptop.
Apparently an important file got corrupted and now Windows refuses to start because of it. Here's the exact message:
Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt:
\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM
You can attempt to repair this file by starting Windows Setup using the original Setup CD-ROM.
Select 'r' at the first screen to start repair.
The problem is, I lost the setup cd, so I have no way of repairing it, so I was wondering if there was any way around it or if there's a place I could get a new copy for cheap or a site online might have it available for download.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Wow, I might have to say, spend the 100bucks and get another xp home. or try safe mode with networking but it might not let you play mxo
Ask a friend if you can borrow their copy of Window's XP is what I would do.

Hello aiolos,
I feel for you, believe me, but this is way off topic for this forum.
Before I lock this thread though may I suggest doing a google search for that phrase, good luck!
