I recently began playing Mxo about a week ago. Picked it up after ditching vanguard(mabye in time vangaurd will shine), and I am loving Mxo. I love the customizable looks, the cyber-underground streetlife vibe that Mxo has, and the skill trees, omg the skill trees are awsome! Ive never seen a game that gives the players so much room for customization. And the gameplay so far is very fun. I kinda like the way missions are handled via cellphone. Its unique and it really immerses you as a key player in the Matrix. Combat is very compelling and interactive, and via the varying skill trees, combat can be takled hundreds of different ways. And by endgame you can jump over buildings, practicly flying? lol, this games definatly has a "cool factor".
(I will complain about fps inside buildings though. I am currently running an AMDX2 4600, with nvidiaGeforce 8800 GTS, and 1Gig of Ram. And I still only get about 10fps inside buildings. Vangaurd wasnt even that bad  SMILEY)

All in all, I love the game. But my concern is this: As great of a game as Mxo seems to be, It seems to be dieing. I rarely see other people. And most of the Redpills I do see are lvl 50 already. Im starting to wonder who Im going to group with as things get harder(Im lvl 10 atm). I really wish that more people would play this game.

What would it take? What would have to happen for Mxo to be revived? I personally would like to see an expansion pack. other players have told me that there is virtualy no endgame content in Mxo. There is the problem! no wonder hardly anyone plays anymore. And expasion pack would be the perfect thing to fix that. Add some endgame features, new lvls, new looks, new places. Mabye they could touch the graphics up a bit, they are already decent, but some DX 9 texture and lighting features would be nice.

What about marketing? Im sure with a little marketing/advertising people would be reminded that Mxo is still around, and that its worth a second look.

What else could be done? Will we ever see the day that SOE performes cpr on Mxo?

A lot of good posts.  I definatly thing more marketing might be the key.  Ok heres an idea.

You know those stay at home jobs that claim you can work from the internet in the saftey of your own home?!  Well what Sony should do is come up with there own version of that.  They would pay us money to do their advertising and marketing for them.  We would do stuff like go on the WoW forums and post Topics like "Mxo>WoW".   it would start a flame, but isnt that some type of marketing strategy?  And we would do other things like log onto Vanguard and CoH and tell people how great Mxo is.

Im not sure any of that is legal, but it would definatly get the name out

Awsome idea SMILEY . Bases to capture between the different organizations.  Would give PvP a tangible objective to fight for, a purpose.  Would give Redpills a reason to stick around after 50.

That, and more cowbell.  I need more cowbell.
