Last night it was suplex, punt, and staggering throw that wouldn't work at times. (Suplex and staggering throw started working again after about ten minutes.)

I haven't had EFK and WDD and misdirect punch and sidekick combo affected by this. They have always worked. But it happens a lot with shy high sidekick and MGK. Even Footweep.

The state specials turning off is a separate thing that's been around since like the start of CR2. What's happened in this patch is completely different, abilities of all types are affected and turn off seemingly at random :\

My team of three against fifteen or so angry Zionist, the mark is is called over the team channel, his evade is down, he's just inches in front with his back turned toward me...
Activate Suplex... Nothing, fair enough, try again... Nothing. Shortly after starting to throw standard knives to help out a team mate I'm dead and without a kill, all due to a broken Suplex.
Happens seemingly at random and out of the blue. In fact I hadn't used it or attempted to activate it at all untill that point. Isn't the first time it's happened and has also happened with the Punt and Staggering Throw abilities, as well as the usial Interlock 'Blinking button' bug which has happened to nearly every ability I can think of. Seems to be happening more and more as of late.

Pistol Barrage doesn't require a state. Suplex doesn't require a state.

Wait wait wait you can actually play in widows moor? It isn't suicide inducingly bugged for you? You can actually fight the npcs without them rolling out on you every 2 seconds only to instantly re-interlock you?!

As long as you use specials they will stay in interlock. Regular tactics simply dont work in Widows Moor. Using block between specials will keep them in interlock as well but will bug your specials so I dont recommend that. Best thing to do is load abilities that you can use back to back throughout the entire fight. They still roll out occassionaly but its not too bad.

this seems to only affect CC, a hack I couldn't use in close combat worked when I rolled so it's just confined to close combat.

How many of you ability breakers are on each server? I thought it might be a Recursion thing, because the lag in Downtown there was unbelievable the other day. Three hardlines were red. This might have to do with breaking abilities, but of course if someone not from Recursion is having this problem, I'll just go shut up and pretend I'm not as stupid as I really am. ;)

Syntax here so... not server specific. But yes, CC specific -- just like PackHuntersaid: the same ability worked out of interlock, wouldn't fire in interlock, left interlock it worked, back in interlock= no love
Edit: And the beat goes on Today, Machine Gun Kick and Dim Mak Strike. I know Walrus thinks this is just state related -- but it's rather obvious it's not when the blinking red number stops, but the move is still a valid choice for the Next round (of course, when chosen the same pattern of blinkingrednumber-nothing-standardmeleeattack happens again!). And like with others, about 15mins later, they started working again without any apparent trigger.

You are right, Quirk. It is not just state related specials. Disarming shot would work but then Pistol execution and Airiel wouldnt work for me at all a few nights ago. The Ability would be blinking but then stop- maybe because it's interupted by damage taken outside of interlock? There were a number of reds shooting at me at the time.
Hmm, a little testing to be done. ^_^ Oh yeah, anyone notice if it is eating up your IS cost for this too? Still taking the IS but the abilities not going through? That would be interesting to see because it could shed some light on weather or not the system recognises actually queing up these moves.

Not true, in an essence. Suplex requires you to be in sneak, and their evade to be down.

Yeah relogging seems to be the only thing that fixes this for me.
Sidekick Combo did this to me in Ashencourte this weekend which forced me to leave. Worst part was I had just leveled past max so I couldnt get back in after the relog. No more farming archive drops for me until this is fixed.

Ok you know this is bad when i come out of hiding to post. Only happenes in interlock for me. Im using hacker tree so no STATES required in interlock, it ques up move then nothing and im NOT losing inner strength. Kinda bad being killed with a full bar of IS lol. Please in the name of all thats good fix this

If you use an ability with a state-requirement and it fails with the message that the target has to be in X state to use this ability, that's when this issue arises. It has been seen before, but for some reason is more prevalent recently.

Ok, lots of people seem confused about what we are discussing or are on different pages, there are a lot of ideas in the air atm and a lot of them are true but we haven't compressed them into a cognitive form, these are the Repro actions I have found for the bug.
In essence you need an ability to fail not due to missing but due to another criteria not being met. 1) With state requiring specials the state ends before the round happens, thus the move fails, from then on the move will not work. 2) Sneak attacks, You lose your disguise, your target jumps or slight lag means that you are no longer "Behind" them when you click on it, thus the move fails but you don't miss. 3) All other attacks, this is when your opponent rolls out of IL when you have a move cued up, from then on the move won't work in IL. I have noticed this a lot in duels and the same when farming 01, all the MA's had their moves break cause the TM would roll out and go for me (I was DOT Stacking him).
This bug affects all IL moves but occurs in 3 distinct manners, people might be saying its favours certain moves but its simply a matter of which moves are used most commonly. All MKT's favour Punt and Suplex and once these moves break they probably log out in disgust, thus resetting their moves and allowing them to use them again when they next log in. People say DPE breaks a lot, but again this move is highly favoured by gunmen, it occurs more often with MGK or Dim Mak cause MA's will most likely use WDD first and have a high chance of the state wearing off by the time they try to follow up with Dim Mak or MGK. You notice no one claims that Tomo Nage or TFK breaks cause you can't get a double state attack from getting someone off balance so the state rarely wears off before you can get the attack in, unless you count Guard Breaker but not many people use that anyway. Swimming says that Karate moves broke for him, Karate has a lower acc than Kung Fu meaning people are more likely to roll out when you use a Karate Special. These are all linked but it seems we never noticed it before or were thinking too hard when the answer was much more simple.
Thats all I have for now, could anyone add their input to these repro actions, there might be more I missed.

Last night I logged on. I immediately threw on my sniper clothes, buffs, then hit firearms skill, concealment, line up the shot, then sniper shot.
Not a message. It just popped me out of concealment, said I'm in pvp, and not one bit of damage. I tried deadly shot.. same thing. Except I wasn't in conceal at the time.
I switched targets, it hit, bam he go dead. Then it didn't ever work on that person.

It is not just on "Roll-outs" or "States" that this happens. I was ILed with Taskmaster last night and both Ki Charged Punch and Ki sweep broke, the state was activer throughout the round yet the ability just flashed off (not a miss, not a hit, nothing).
Early in CR2.0 I think there was a similar problem (it may have been CR1, can't remember now) where use of Hotbar Icon 1 used to break, usually fixed by using hotbar icon 10 (though not always) or a specific ability (sidekick used to clear it I think) but I'm not sure on the specifics of that anymore.

Ive had this happen with Wooden dummy drill, Dim mak strike, Full auto, Full auto redux and Three round burst. All require dazed, or staggerd, but i dont use many other trees, so im not to wide spread on the large scale.

Here's how my sneak attacks broke:
Player being interlocked in the time I press Punt/Suplex/Topsy Turvy.
My interlock specials broke when I became powerless/stunned/pacified inbetween when I click and when it goes off.

Used to happen in CR1, the fix was Iron Guard for MA.
I too am getting this more so than ever, wish they could just fix it and leave the combat system alone, i mean everyone knows how to use it.

Like bugged concealment I doubt this'll be fixed any time soon. Difficult to repro.
Used to be that IL'ing someone with your close combat button would fix abilities, but hasn't been the case lately.
