Client Version:

It stops at that

Am i missing something???
#36300170666 02/20/2007 13:26:14 Re:Can't Log in for Patch
That looks like a firewall problem.

Do you have a firewall and if so is it configured to allow Launcher.exe and Matrix.exe full access to the internet?

#36300170676 02/20/2007 13:38:54 Re:Can't Log in for Patch
A firewall still wouldn't stop it loading the Username and Password part would it?
#36300170680 02/20/2007 13:42:19 Re:Can't Log in for Patch
It checks the launcher version before it allows you to log in to make sure you've got the most upto date launcher, so it does I'm afraid.

#36300170815 02/20/2007 16:13:06 Re:Can't Log in for Patch
It still didn't work!, The Accept button light is red, i have a firewall and everything accepted it all, no reason why it shouldn't work so why doesn't it!
#36300170818 02/20/2007 16:13:59 Re:Can't Log in for Patch
I also have that stupid IE pop up with

Do you have a WB Login?

Which i do....
#36300170822 02/20/2007 16:15:59 Re:Can't Log in for Patch
Er Stupid Question Butt is a fire wall actually needed when ur playing a game ? I mean ur not surfing the net so u cant exactly get attacked by something... Im probably waaay off and in fact disabling ur Fire wall would b worse than having none >.<
#36300170841 02/20/2007 16:30:54 Re:Can't Log in for Patch
Yeah, Well i accepted through anyways, but it still dont work somehow? heres a screen of it...............

#36300170880 02/20/2007 17:40:47 Re:Can't Log in for Patch

You always require a firewall. It is like having a bouncer at every door to your house. Just because you're in the kitchen or only mowing the back lawn doesn't mean someone won't try to pick the lock on the front door. The mere act of being connected to the internet exposes you to attacks. Browsing the internet is like sticking mail through the mail-slot in the door

There is an update required for the client and something is blocking it. Usually it's the firewall. Where is this computer? (home, school, college, work... etc)

Also you will need to post your system info as requested in the Must read before posting: How to post your System/Network information thread.
In particular we need to see the whole SYSINFO file.

If your internet router has a firewall on it, that could be blocking the connection as well.
You can find out what ports need to be enabled for MxO to work in this thread: Up to date port information for those with super tight firewalls (like me)

If you have a useropts.cfg file Tiango try removing it and then try patching. When the launcher stalls after displaying the Server/Client versions usually its because its having trouble talking with the patch or authentication server if I am recalling the process correctly

Is Internet Explorer set to work offline because that could be causing the problem?

To double check, load up Internet Explorer, then click on file and make sure that there isn't a tick next to Work Offline. If using IE7, click on the Tools button and check under there.

I know this is unsafe (very), but have you tried temp disabling your firewall to see if it will allow it to connect.

What type of router is it?

It looks like you have an incorrect system setting (probably windows firewall)

Please post your ENTIRE MSINFO file (DXDIAG not so important for this problem) as explained here: Must read before posting: How to post your System/Network information (the post explains how to split the file up, or just email the whole thing to [email protected] and I'll check it out)

I'll check it out ASAP, I had my office broken into and my PC stolen so all my email is web based at the moment.

Hello Tiango ,

Dumb question but I missed that part about the pop up earlier, you did convert from WB to SOE when we got the game?

Hello Tiango

Are you getting that pop up before or after entering your station name and password, or do you even get prompted to enter them?

#36300190482 03/18/2007 16:25:24 Re:Can't Log in for Patch
No i don't even get to entering my username and password

Sorry I've taken so long to get back to this thread. My laptop was stolen and I lost the email that was sent to me.

Try this:

Delete the shortcut and make a new one to point to launcher.exe in your MxO directory. I think the current one is set to open the pop up and that's stopping the log in working properly. Also check your options.cfg and useropts.cfg files (open them in Notepad) and remove any lines that have URLs in them (http://....)

Did you try this?

Matrix Online]
As the Matrix Online was not built on Sony's Launchpad, the internet install process is different. If you have trouble with the steps below, please visit the Matrix Online Technical Support forum for additional help.
http://mxoboards.station.sony.com/m....id=techsupport

If you would like to try patching the entire game from the patch program, please follow these steps.

1. Download the Matrix_Install.zip file to your Desktop.
2. Create a new folder for your Matrix Online game to be installed into:
A. Double-click on My Computer
B. Double-click on Local Disk (C) (You may need to click on "Show the contents of this disk"SMILEY
C. Double-click on Program Files (You may need to click on "Show the contents of this folder"SMILEY
D. Click on FILE-->New-->Folder (at the top of the window) and name the folder Matrix Online.
3. Now double-click on the Matrix Install.exe file on your Desktop to open it.
4. Click on the Edit menu at the top of the window, and choose Select All.
5. Click the Edit menu again, and choose Copy.
6. Now switch to the MXO directory you created, and choose Edit->Paste.
7. Right-click on Launcher.exe and choose Send To->Desktop (Create Shortcut).
8. Close all open windows, and then double click on the Shortcut to launcher.exe to start The Matrix Online.

Choose to do a Full System Check from both the End User License Agreement screen, and from the Username/Password screen. This will allow you to download the entire game from the patch servers.
