Save Vector? nah, try to save the game... here's how
- Do whatever it takes to minimize lag. Upgrade the servers, streamline code, whatever...
- Merge the servers.
- Make hostile zones (downtown, certain neighborhoods, etc.) Make richland non-hostile.
- Place pvp objectives in constucts.
- Make CQ's redeemable for gear and rankings.
- No CQ for killing players more than 5 levels below you.
- Give neighborhood mission contacts a fresh set of missions. Make them relevant and epic. Release a new set regularly. Make enough so that the follow a back story and a character can get to a reasonably high level by doing them coupled with critical organization based missions and grinding neighborhood gang npcs. This is the year 2007. Doing the same quest over and over with Randomly generated NPC names is no longer acceptable. There are console games with better mission/level progression.
- Allow coders to place buffs on items.
- Allow coders to repair items so that they are never completely destroyed.
- Figure out *CENSORED* multi-fighting should do.
- Make agents appear whenever the rules of the Matrix are being bent or broken numerous times in a particular area.
- Repackage and re-release the game in conjunction with another film or (comic)book/graphic novel, (decent)next gen game or something that would get people who aren't necessarily huge fans thinking "The Matrix" again.
- Endgame content.
- Raise the level cap to 60.
- Where are those new ability trees?
- Simplify the whole 'buff' process
- Improve hideouts. Make them worth doing.
- Either make guns require ammo or make them lose stability with each shot. Even Neo ran out of bullets.
- Widen the game map. Introduce some new neighborhoods. Maybe some new high level hideouts that are actually not quite so linear. Something along the lines of the hideout in Lucero Point. Maybe a neighborhood like the one in that part of the Animatrix where the code in the Matrix was damaged.
- Make the NPC's in baldwin heights use stealth and assassin abilities.
I could go on... but I'd probably still be dreaming every day. The bottom line is SOE could still make more money than they already are off of the Matrix franchise if they invested a little more...
I hope you brought backup, cuz if I catch you alone... it's a wrap.
