Ok, let's face it, why would an operative still use a clunky cell phone? Nowadays we have earpieces like blue tooth. Can't we have an item that allows us to talk into a blue tooth headset instead of a cell phone when we call for our missions, we could just use our ear piece!
Blue tooth earpiece!

Because cell phones are a part of the whole Matrix thang. Not to mention that blue-tooth wasn't available in the time of the Matrix's setting, nor can you drop one in a trash can to let the Machines know where to find you... Besides, if you're wearing a bluetooth headset, where you gonna put your program launcher huh? Not to mention the animation for a cell phone is way cooler than trying to animate something appropriate to bluetooth. You could always just use the /touchearpiece command and pretend you have one anyway. So yeah, we don't need no fancy blueteeth here in MxO

Thus the technology for camera mobiles, bluetooth mobiles, etc is not available, although that is so for the Bluepill, Redpills can load ANYTHING into the Matrix. Heck, I bet they could even load a small Hovercraft into the Matrix.
The Matrix is perpetually set in the year 1999 (to my knowledge).

Much like the item used to remove the "bug" from Neo in the first movie? It doesn't exist in the simulation, but Redpills can make it exist.

Haha!
Yep I think the cell phones look much cooler when you are talking into them in the Matrix!
I wish there were an emote that just let you look like you are yapping away on your phone!

My Char uses a mobile but it's just to add to the general illusion. He wouldn't need it. Anything he needs he has on his left arm

Are you so sure Ree? There's no proof that the real isn't just another Matrix. But that's not the topic.
On topic: I don't want bluetooth, I want the Siemens!
Hence why I assumed they reset the Matrix every so often and do a memory whipe so we don't get a Matrix, within a Matrix, within a Matrix-continues-repeating-loop.
