This is a good idea!

You should not have to say something if you have nothing to say.

Also, voice acting is a very difficult skill to master- I hope the stress was minimal!

With almost three weeks of no Walrus, it seems that nothing new is going on in development. Oh well.

The 2nd picture of the Green Code Exploit does not show, it shows up as a red x.
#36300162826 02/09/2007 15:42:31 Re:The Other Side of the Looking Glass - Friday, February 9, 2007

/sigh

There's an exploit one way or another, whether it's green code or something else, there is an exploit there. Someone doesn't just happen to be able to /point at you or run right to you from 20-25 m's away.

I donno i beg to differ, i can see things stealthed pretty good, i donno what my detection is, but i can catch people in time to shoot them and break there stealth. this is always without code stream..

Good to hear from you Walrus!

Why don't you eliminate the Community Uplink and Caption thing, which we all see on the forum anyway normally before it's posted on DN1...and replace it with simply Image Retrieval?

So, *puts a 20$ in Walrus' pocket* about those scripts? Are they fun?

Whilst the efforts to investigate are of course appeciated, the 'Green code' exploit warrants looking into in greater depth.  There's just no way that I should be seen by someone when it's just the two of us in the area, and the following applies:  On numerous occasions I've been all of 75m away, and this other person will /laugh for an entire minute or so, then target HJ to my exact location.  They could have been running Sixth Sense, and be wearing Watcher's shades, but they still shouldn't have seen me.  The only other explanation is that there's a problem with Escape and Evasion.

Thanks for the updates Walrus.

I hope we hear something soon about the luggables posibility in patch 50, if they are stuck on what to really do, stick one in 01 that adds info to your RSI while you hold it. SMILEY

*Oh and the Voice acting thing, yea been there, you'll see tomorrow SMILEY

I've never noticed anything like that, and I run with the code overlaid on the normal textures, pretty much all the time. So I should've noticed something in either realm by now.

It would be nice if the community uplink could be made into a proper article again, back when Aether was writing it.

I actually like the idea of the article shuffle. Just as long as the article description thingy on the new pages makes it clear it covers live events, like rare said those postings are pretty good publicity for visitors.

As for image retrieval - keep it every week for sure, people totally love image retrieval, hehe. My suggestion? Have it every wends, fits in nicely between the main articles and doesn't make it seem like we're going for stretches of inactivity or no news.

Article every monday, wends and friday? Purrrfect.

EDIT: Another point though, what about discussion links? Are they gonan be coming back as a regular feature in Community Uplink? I sure hope so.

What's that? Oh, sure, Rarebit and Paul have been talking about the next year's storyline for a while now. In fact, I have Paul's scripts right here on my desk...

Oh, it's going to be a fun year in The Matrix Online.

3 Chapters = 9 Subchapters x 6 Weeks = 54 weeks.  Yes, I would prefer more than 3 chapters in a year, but that's not my point.  SOE is planning and investing in the game for another year.  No guarantees, of course, but it's nice to know that SOE expects us to be here a while longer. SMILEY

Just an idea
"Video Retrieval"

Parse a small clip (~ 5 sec worth) into flash video for showing off something that would be neat to see, such as the RSI pill (before, taking the pill, after) or anything in the future.

The community uplinks are flawed - when it comes to week final there shouldn't be plus week 1 on the end since it isn't actually the next chapters week 1. As evidenced by the latest uplink.

And secondly, events from the end of week (i.e fridays) that don't get up on-site in time for the uplink posting should be updated into it later.
