People use this word for many reasons, however there is one constant about those who do use it regardless of the reason. That is that those using the word are prone to being trashtalkers themselves.

fighting someone who is sploiting and still winning.....
i always thought "owning" wasn't just defeating an opponent, it was destroying them, taking all their health in a few seconds while taking no damage, toying around with them and then killing them, fighting at half strengh until they are confident then taking them down in a few moves.
