(I posted this in the "Ask the Dev" thread, but someone suggested I place this here.)

I know we don't have a quest system, but couldn't the email system be used in a sort-of quest system?  I've been playing 9Dragons and one thing I like is how you gain new missions as you level up or hit other milestones.  Couldn't a system be put in place that could email players non-tradeable "golden ticket"-type missions  based on leveling up, hitting a certain number of CQ points, etc.?  Just a thought.

Well, the quest-type things we've seen in the game (such as Binary Boy or the trail of collectors leading you through Uriah) are basically obtaining a certain amount of items and give them to a collector.

So, using the email system, a player could receive a golden ticket mission, with the instructions in the details (e.g. "Obtain five Special Silver Badges and 20 robot parts"SMILEY, and once you do that, you activate the ticket, which spawns a mission in a location with the NPC (either new or major/minor character).

Or say you hit (again, as an example) 1000 CQ points.  You get a golden ticket email for a chance to meet and maybe spar with Seraph (or a simulacrum of him).

Again, it's just an idea.

The other good thing about this idea is that it uses functionality that's already in place (email system, mission system) instead of building a whole-new quest system from scratch (which won't happen).  Email storage would probably have to be increased, though.

I'd be curious if a dev would be able to comment on the feasibility of this idea, and what the caveats are.

Also, would this be something players would even want to see in the game?
