It's so frustrating!

I've been trying to do something on Photoshop for ages and I can't figure out how to do it! I want to create realistic 'cracks' in my RSI's skin; black cracks that look like he is corrupted by something or someone. I can't make the cracks look realistic at all and I wanted a bit of red code dripping out of them too.

Can anyone point me in the right direction please?
