ok the deal is when i go into a building of anysort my frames per second drop down to at least 2 frames every 10 seconds... i have messed around with the quality settings and nothing seems to happen.. therefore i cant mission or take part in anything which is in a building. i have at least 80fps out side and it runs really smooth but as soon as i open a door to a building it lag hits me.

i have a geforce 8800gts and the dxdiag is here

ask me if i need to post anything else SMILEY

#36300144786 01/18/2007 21:22:07 Re:Nasty FPS when i go in buildings
Server lag, probably. Lag in buildings should go way down because the machine isnt needing to process that much. Odd.
#36300144902 01/19/2007 05:45:35 Re:Nasty FPS when i go in buildings
i dont think its server lag, i have a good connection to the server and when i go in the buildings my fps drops and it freezes for 2 second intervals like a frame every 2-3 seconds and the more time i spend in it the worse it gets. as soon as i exit the building, (if i can) then my fps goes really smooth

i have the latest video drivers from nvidia and my pc is 100% uptodate,

i have no idea how to change this apart from useropts.cfg but im no good at that..
#36300145597 01/19/2007 19:32:53 Re:Nasty FPS when i go in buildings
Are your graphics settings too high?
#36300145716 01/20/2007 02:37:55 Re:Nasty FPS when i go in buildings
well, i get no different fps on very high graphics outside than on very low graphics, i have tryed both to sort out the building lag and nothing happened, i still got the horrid lad when i put it on the lowest setting possible. i got no clue why this is happening SMILEY
#36300145918 01/20/2007 10:57:33 Re:Nasty FPS when i go in buildings
Neither do I,  any background applications? I try to shut all mine off
#36300145922 01/20/2007 11:04:47 Nasty FPS when i go in buildings
i tend to find going in builds use to lag me up , before i upgraded my system, can be hardware related i guess
#36300145925 01/20/2007 11:10:41 Re:Nasty FPS when i go in buildings
Tbh the geforce 8800 GTS is mainly built for the directx 10 games coming out this year, i have noticed the fps lag on some of my older games which might be the reason

All my other applications running in background are at minimal

apart from that i dont know wat else to do SMILEY
#36300145953 01/20/2007 12:49:07 Re:Nasty FPS when i go in buildings
The above answer is correct, it is an issue with that card.
#36300161371 02/08/2007 12:03:25 Re:Nasty FPS when i go in buildings

Hello Sent,

Thanks for the assist.

I have just started to work on these boards so I am not on top of all the issues there may be but as soon as I can get any info on these cards I will get back to you.

#36300161846 02/08/2007 18:20:21 Re:Nasty FPS when i go in buildings

The 8800 currently has a few issues with it's drivers. In particular it tends to get lighting, occlusion (obects hiding behind other objects) and anti-aliasing issues.

If you can avoid the Vista upgrade too for a few months as the vista drivers have a number of issues with the blurry seethrough style on Aero.

#36300161877 02/08/2007 18:38:21 Re:Nasty FPS when i go in buildings

Hello phi,

Thanks again for the assist.

I have to agree with you on holding off on Vista, at least until the first srvice pack is released and the driver support improves.
