Denolus wondered the confines of his new mainframe. Living on the Calypso for so long he wondered what it would be like without the old crew. He knew they would be fine but it was not his destiny to join them. As long as he had been free of the system there was one thing he truly understood, and that was that change is a constant.
Zion had recently created a server that could house the program which sought refuge from his oppressors and Frenchmen who wanted him deleted. The Zion council had bickered at each other about letting a program captain a ship. Some felt that the program could become corrupted but Denolus knew other wise. Others pointed out it could only help them strengthen the truce by allowing a program to gain such a high rank.
“Denolus?” a voice echoed in his housing construct.
“Yes, Tyndall?” he replied.
“Your ship is almost done. We were able to salvage some old parts that we were missing. Your ship is as new as they come. We have set up the network so you can control everything but due to the human element we have given you a list of Operators and their qualifications. We are transmitting it now”
A folder suddenly appeared and Deno walked over to his desk and sat down. Slowly he opened the pages and started to read, but then stopped.
“I can only assume the council has agreed to grant my request?”
She paused for a moment “They have...” There was another pause. “There are some concerned that you might become corrupted and try to turn against Zion. I told them your programming won't allow that. Synexik would never have done that to Zion or the OS.. he loved this place to much. That and we know you can reprogram yourself. We have it on record.”
“Your right Tyndall, I wouldn't this truce is too important.”
“I'll give you some time to figure out who your operator will be. Have you thought of a name yet for you hovercraft?”
“Perhaps” he chuckled lightly “But until I meet her thats something that will be stored where -you- can't access” He laughed.
“Very well then” she giggled for but a second. “You know how to contact me. Take care Deno.”
“Thank you, and can you pass on this message to the council. I will not stop until we have peace. And I thank them for the opportunity to prove myself.”
“I will.” Tyndall said.
The communication ended and Denolus turned his attention to the file that now lay on his desk. Who would be the person to make sure his crew was alright and looked after in the real, he asked himself.. then he began to read.
