Okay, so I stayed up till 3AM to attend the new years party. so sue me 
and wow...what a party it was. ive never seen so many people ingame at the same time since, well, probably the neurophyte live event. some people do weekly parties or whatever in certain clubs but hardly anyone turns up. yet its obvious theres a demand for big events like the one held last night, and with enough advance notice and planning, you can jam about six zillion people in one of those clubs. okay, slight exaggeration but you get the idea.
im sick of seeing three or four people max in a district and empty nightclub after nightclub. seems to me the community here is as strong as its ever been, and thats coming from someone who left just before the handover. i'm curious - why aren't there huge expressions of that community ingame as often as there probably should be? its a real shame if we can only muster a massive event like that once or twice a year, and only then because its "new years" or "xmas" or whatever. kudos to the chariots of fire - they pulled a blinder with their party and it was awesome.
im sure we could potentially have parties like this (with a little effort) at least once a month. i dunno...seeing that club jam packed with people all having a good time and interacting reminded me of the first month of so when the game launched. to be honest, its something i wasn't sure i would see in game again but that feeling is still definitely in there. it just needs coaxing out
