Well I went to this last night with a friend.
I was excited cuz it sounded very magical and interesting. Well to my disappointement it was a horrible movie. They toted this as a spanish/english subtitles, adult fairy tale. It wasn't at all, it was a very violent, graphicly violent war movie with a little girl who goes on quests to fulfil her "destiny" but the odd thing is you never any kind of magical world or anything. Its this dark and dreary, depressing film.
Torcher scenes. Inhuman cruelity, so much so I had to leave the film for a breather cuz it was so *CENSORED* depressing. Imagine the surprise my friend had when I called them during the movie (outside in lobby of course) to tell her how bad it was, after discussing how excited I was to go see it.
My friend I went with was a guy and loved it.. of course cuz it was violent and etc, but in all honesty I'm all for a good bloody film (The departed) but this one just didnt fit with the whole story, it was not needed and made the film feel like a horror story more then a adult fairy tale.
My opinion is skip it or rent it..
