Im trying to figure out if this is an exploit at least as far as non hostile server constructs are concerned. The reason Im asking is someone informed me today that while mid air you are deflagged in a pvp construct on Recursion. I tested this and its true.
I can not even be free fired while jumping around. If done right I can basicly become invulnerable for 75% of the time. I doub the game intended this so I was hoping someone could maybe clear it up.

Ohh this bug's been around for as long as I can remember.
To get around it, we manually type /pvp in the constructs. So, if the bunny hopper takes a shot at any of us, they're perma-flagged as well, and can be hit as normal.
It still makes IL very difficult, however.
I'd call it an exploit. Certainly.

Yeah thats funky Im used to Vector and being to be able to get ganked right at my proxy let alone deflagging mid air. /pvp does work though so that handles that Ill just make sure to type it everytime I construct fight now.
How would you feel about fully flagged jumping though? I know what I was doing tonight was jumping fishing for a status effect so I could 3 shot the other 25s in there because everyone was pill popping and I didnt have anyone on to code me some. I had no chance of Out DPSing a pill spammer before I ran out of IS and died so I was basicly forced to go status effect fishing or die.
I guess it could go either way. My personal feelings are that its on the equivilent to strafing in an FPS. Im just trying to get the general feeling of how other Recursionites feel.

It's a cheap tactic, but you can counter it by typing /pvp as soon as you get into the archive.

I don't see any reason why being airborne should turn off your flag, be it in a regular jump or a HyperJump.

I play mostly on the hostile server, soemthign similar happens to us, outside the construct. We are able to shoot them but not IL therefore making me completely powerless, somethings I chase people all the way down the Mara C bridge. They just keep jumping. I am MA so all my moves are in IL. I believe it should be an exploit, especially when they are MKT and yur rooted and they use it to get behing me w/o me being able to IL myself, and I get the punt.
People tell me to do it, but I don't want to fight low like that. I think it is unfair gameplay.

this is in the archives shico not normal jumping and jumping to avoid interlock has been done since cs 1

Pretty much the same deal with dueling. To some, jumping forward and back in a duel to avoid damage is "skill" or "strategy". To me it's just cheap. Whenever you repeatedly do something in order to avoid damage you would normally take under "typical" circumstances...I consider that an exploit. I know some won't agree but that's my 2 info...
(p.s. if you see me in a construct remind me to type /pvp...i always forget lol)

I consider jumping to avoid interlock a bug that needs to be fixed. It makes no sense that someone doing a normal jump or hyperjump can be Interlocked if in range, but someone doing a backwards jump can avoid interlock.
Certain factions LOVE to abuse this bug and it's getting very out of hand.

It's more specific players i'd say, but they do all consist of similar factions indeed.
However there is a thread on Development Roundtable for that specific problem..

Been this way for ages, although I don't think it's really been bought up properly before. About time it was fixed really

I feel that if used sparingly against more than one enemy, the jump to avoid interlock tactic is one that should not be removed from the game. Personally, I feel that many people use it far too often and then it becomes an exploit. Bottomline, if it can be exploited then people are going to use it for that advantage. I'm indifferent, but oh well.
On the downside, I've been interlocked from mid-air and rendered unable to use anything in my hotbar aside from evade or switch tactics. So jumping and hyperjumping have their disadvantages.
