How did you get that swesome smoke effect?

I recently signed upto the STO boards (Star Trek: Online) and was making a sig, and I was pretty proud of this image, took me a good hour to get the lighting correct and I thought since we probably have a few Trekies out there why not share.

Nice use of the wind effect but it doesn't look very much like the code is really flowing through the image, just placed ontop like a flat plane instead, nice idea though the code bomb effecting the code like that.

For some reason the latest one is just showing up as a blank space for me. =\
I've updated the last pic with a new link, I used photobucket and it's always seemed to work but it's hosted on 100 webspace and I've never had a problem with that so we'll see.
