I think it's safe to assume he means Mega City Time, which is equal to Pacific Time and is usually what is meant when times are referred to IC.

Mega City runs on Pacific Time, so that would be my guess. All of the other events have been on PST, so why not this one?

((Event cancelled by creator for the following reasons:

1). Lack of interest.
2). Nobody taking it seriously.

And most importantly:

3). The lack of imagination of people who were participating that failed to get the point that an EMCP had been modified to act as a traditional EMP device. And even after detonation, people just laughed and/or said, "Hey, the bomb was a dud!" or "It didn't work!" or "Hey, that only works against commandos." just because the game's mechanics don't allow it. What did you expect? Cars to suddenly stop or things in the game environment to change? And also because people failed to see the fact that a "Bomb Simulacrum" was supposed to die after detonation. It fulfilled its purpose. Instead I get comments like, "Hahahaha!!!!1111 he killed himself!"

It had the potential to be a fun and unique event and maybe it did start off slow, but I was intending for it to be ongoing and actually build up to something.))

I'm sure you'll find that just because there were few replies in this thread, doesn't mean that 1, there was a lack of interest or 2, nobody took it seriously.

If your chief complaint is that players 'failed to get the point', then perhaps your event was too complex a venture to persue, and this should be kept in mind for the future (conjecture).  I can't speak for those who provided the irrelevant comments, some just don't have the capacity for, or interest in taking things seriously.  Perhaps that's all they could say because they didn't really understand the fundamentals of what was happening.

Don't be discouraged by negative elements that should be expected for such things.  There were many players interested in the 'encrypted transmissions', and I'm sure there will be again, should you decide to continue.

((What's so complex about a bomb exploding and then having people understand that it had an effect? It's self explanatory. Assuming it was a dud just because we don't have bombs in game is kind of pointless from a RP standpoint. It has nothing to do with the threads, but it's all in game stuff.  You were not there on Recursion when all the RPers showed up just shrugged and said, "Yeah, bomb, whatever, we want proof. When you detonate one, we'll take you seriously." And so when one detonates...what do they do? Laugh and crack jokes about it. So yeah, whatever...))

Like I said, conjecture.  I was attempting to offer you an explanation, so perhaps you wouldn't be discouraged to try again some time.

i was very intrested in all this...it was unfortunate i kept missing big chunks of the story behind it as i have been busy as of late.

Don't give up because of narrow minded players, if we all did that..there'd be nobody left but those idiots.

#36300105128 11/27/2006 06:37:53 Re:An Intercepted Transmission (Part 2)
It did pique a lot of ppl's interest here and was very well constructed, sadly the problem with all events is knowing how to respond to an unexpected reaction from the participants. I'm sorry you dont feel able to continue at present but I hope that before long you will be inspired to consider it part of the challenge of leading and event and will then take it further...
#36300105692 11/27/2006 13:20:21 An Intercepted Transmission (Part 2)
I was interested in it definately...just wouldn't go along with it because it went against my views of what EPN stands for and how they should and do act.
