Now we all know Cypherites don't have it easy in this game. Content wise we don't have a true org, no missions, no construct spawn point. The only content we're recognized with are our lovely bandanna's. But I have accepted that.
Our population is shrinking each day, which I find a true shame. MXO needs its bad guys and Cypherites are the craziest ones you can get to be as a player.
Now recruiting for the Cypherite Cause was already a tough job. I mean, story wise, In Character wise, official cannon wise blah blah, whatever, it goes like this: "Bluepill sees there's something wrong, he seeks a way out." This is everyones story, everyone wants to get out of the Matrix. I can recruit new awakened redpills for each org and I've done that succesful as well. I don't think anyone will disagree that it's slightly unlogical to recruit a young awakened to become a Cypherite, right?
So what's left. How do we get our numbers?
Someones decides to make an alt, who's easily recruited but, with all due respect, it's just an alt.
Any other options?
We have to convert redpills, specifically redpills who've been awakened for a longer time.
And that used to go fine. It brought along good RP, a little treachery, spying and what else not. Overall, it truly was something that you could affiliate Cyphs with, imho.
But since the latest update of a 0 reputation required to join a crew of $org, converting redpills has become almost impossible. I say almost, because I know of a few who're already grinding. But that's only a few, who I truly respect, but have to go through hell to get to be what they want to do be. To get to 50 is one thing, and it doesn't take only missions to get there. But grinding reputation is another and the only way to do that is to run endlessly.
Even it was hard enough to recruit the devs have made it barely possible for people to join. Not that I can't convince people to become Cypherite but not many people like to give up their reputation.
People like to join instantly.
Now don't get me wrong, I'm all for earning your right to be part of one organisation. But where's the logic of grinding Machines reputation to join Cypherites?
I strongly believe this has to change if the devs want to Cypherite players to be around much longer. Either implement other ways of gaining rep instead of missions, or make it easier to gain rep. Or simply go back to the old way, because I don't think I've read any positive comment about the required rep yet.
This coming from a Cypherite, for Cypherites. But it counts for all the orgs and those who want to switch. Not everyone makes the right choice in the beginning of the game but some of us sure have to learn a hard lesson because of that.
