I'm kind of hoping this is the right forum, as while related to a paticular type of ability, I have to admit my knowledge is... limited at best, and I'm by no means a veteran, or even really all that average yet. So... is it practical to specialize in the use of Proxys at level 17? I'm considering trying it out for a nice change of pace, but at the same time I'm worried about them not being very effective, or what to do, or how to properly back one up...

EDIT: *Glances down* Wow, my signature sure is... bright. o_O Is it supossed to be a large white box containing the small amount of text I have in it?

Proxy Coder, ey? Yeah they can be effective because at the end of the day in PvP you will have an extra person fighting at your side, the most effiective in range is the Nuker and then you can also make aikido simulacras and such. Its fun to play with, but I don't like it, I think it really has to appeal to once personal taste. But everybody should atleast try it once.

The most consistent dueling pawnage I've ever witnessed was all of the vets in Tabor Park getting their asses handed to them by a Proxy Coder.  I have no idea how to play one, or if it's practical at low levels, but I can say from experience that it rocks in high-level duels.

From level 2 to about 9 it's pretty useful to keep a low level character alive. After that, it pretty much weakens you because of the limited memory space and lack of abilities aimed at making your own RSI useful in a fight. But at higher levels when you get more powerful abilities and can pratically load up hybird loadouts (using other trees too) it's effective again.

That would be a yes. The problem is that your sig is an iFrame which hasn't had it's background color set to match that of the background color for the rest of the page.

If you can get enough buffs into your proxy...it's like a two on one fight every time, and if your proxy interlocks your opponent first...you can heal the proxy.

The only problem is if your opponent gets you first, and you die, both of you get taken down at the same time.

Hmmm...What about getting your proxy to work as a tank? Just getting him to attack IL the target while you bombard from the outside? Sure sounds like something practical.

I use the Nuker Proxy to farm it is great to have the extra firepower there to do twice the amount of damage and make farming alot quicker!!  So I say yes to needing it later on also I have used mine to protect myself while coding b/c you know the UR's cannot stand not harassing you while you are coding and unable to move!

Well yeah, and you could also just put your proxy on aggressive stance, and go make yourself some dinner or whatever...When you get back you have a freakin' lot to loot.

Did i just say that?

Worst-case scenario, the sim can free-fire and cause states.  I've lost what should have been a simple fight, simply because the sim got extremely lucky and had me dazed three times.  Two WDD's, and a DM later and there's no coming back.

The current trend seems to be Kung Fu/Karate Master & proxy to buff them, and delete the opponents upgrades.  It's a tough build 1v1.

In answer to the original question, that would be a resounding yes.

I find proxies are great if yer coding and can't do anything or call for backup, put em on aggressive and they'll attack the red, hopefully interlocking, and allowing to get out of there with yer bits and other stuff
