Fondo, with the right loadout a hacker can still be effective to a degree inside IL.

As for animations, well if you WIN the roll, then its like you have frozen them while you hit, if they could shoot you then... you havent won the roll, its the best way i think the game system developers thought it should be apparent.

Hacker is still one of the weakest classes to get into IL, however they can still do some damage. As for hackers being over powered? no way, hell everyone can load hyper deflect with any other defense, hackers are already on the backfoot as it is.

you have absolutely no idea how much a hacker can do in interlock, Hacker inherantly has very high accuracy which beats gunmen, hacker has very high defense to thrown which beats MKT and assasin, and a good hacker can usually take out an MA in interlock if he's good enough or the MA has low resistances or is crap enough

you have absolutely no idea how much a hacker can do in interlock, Hacker inherantly has very high accuracy which beats gunmen, hacker has very high defense to thrown which beats MKT and assasin, and a good hacker can usually take out an MA in interlock if he's good enough or the MA has low resistances or is crap enough


I think he was just trying to say that hackers have more of an advantage outside of IL, they have abilities that cant be used inside IL.

yeh but since I can have a long endless list of specials I can use to keep hitting my target over and over and over, some people won't even be able to get a single hit in

Personally I'm not too worried although I can imagine that borrowed 'silver bullet' would be annoying (my hacker isn't that high yet). 
On the one hand, I really like the moment when you hit them and it makes that noise and takes away their life.  I like the little lightnings and hitting people with logic cannons, it's great!  But on the other hand when I first came to MxO I would have imagined hacker attacks being quite different.  I guess more akin to mage spells, but of course not so overt as throwing a fireball.  Things like cutting off an RSI's breathing, stopping their heart, turning their blood to..whatever.

So yeah, I'm on the fence.  There are cool things they could do, but the things we have right now are cool too. 

A hacker RP sense is to damage the RSI, they have multiple things they can do but I'd love to see if yer stunned it turns the screen black, since you shouldn't be able to see anything if yer stunned
