Sounds like you were trying to patch when the servers were down.
Are you still getting this?

*applies standard Jeffers fix*
Run internet explorer (MUST run MSIE not firefox or opera or any other)
open the "File" menu
check that "Work offline" is not ticked.
also please post the FULL msinfo and DXdiag.
People often post the same info you did, It's not very helpful as it doesn't tell us the specific details of your system config (not system specs) that cause these sort of problems.
No need nemore I remembered how in WoW whenever they did a patch I would have to clear the program from the norton list and let it recheck it for the game to work. Tried that on this and it fixed it. Not a problem with my comp or the game or the patch, just more bs caused by good ol norton......yay....lol well thx neways guys I appreciate that yall replied so quickly. Have a good 1.
Ahh good old Norton... It gets worse with each release.
Why it can't just pop-up and tell you that the program file has changed and ask if you want to allow the new version.
Just like good ol' ZoneAlarm. Ahh the greatness, I could drown in its splendor. Ahhhh
Laters
Does norton remind ne1 else of the Big Brother govt program? Its way over-protective, its looking into every single thing you do, and it will screw you over on the stupidest of things.
Yes, if you're having trouble connecting after a patch, always check the anti virus software first, as it would be the first thing I would check with you.

It doesn't? Strange, my one (NIS 2006) always gives me a pop-up asking what I want to do with the executable after a patch.

I'm not sure, but I think within NIS there is an option to change the mode it works in. One of the top of my head is definately learning mode and can't remember what the other one is.
Anyway, one of those modes will popup the box asking you about a changed program wanting internet access like Chuui says.
