Dear all,
As I saw a number of threads in this forum, as well as other MMORPGs forums and I notice there is a common theme that units them all... people moan, complain and *CENSORED* about the game they pay good money to play.
So, I decided to do the same but... with a difference; I decided to actually write a thread of all the things I like about The Matrix Online and I hope, if you have time and you want to participate, you make this even more "hot" than all the complain threads we saw so far.
I guess complaining is human nature so I am sure somebody will post in this thread critics to the game and the way I see it, is a karmic law, balance need to be maintained, however, if instead the few who want to complain, go off and simply read a book or do whatever they find entertaining beside complaining, please do so.
Now, also bear in mind I am at work and a tad bit bored so, if you have better things to do instead of posting here, well, that is ok as well, I do not expect any big things out of this.
To start with I am new; I have only one character active, a level 23 mechanist in Syntax and proud member of The Tetragrammaton so, I do not know the good old day and I do not know what changed.
I started a couple of months ago MxO since I saw in Your Tube the recruitment video of The Tetragrammaton and I decided soon after I saw the film that I wanted to play MxO and be part of that faction.
So, that is one of the thing I like the most, the people that play this game, the dedication to a game that is not mainstream but have a very loyal member base ready to defend the game and willing to make it better in any way possible.
As an ex World of Warcraft player but not addict, I dare to say, I was looking for an urban/modern MMORPG and MxO is the best and possible the only game of this type.
Talking of Warcraft, this is not Warcraft, has nothing to do with it and is not plagued with people so obsessed with power leveling and uber gear that they lose completely the point of a game, to have fun... and this is a big plus for MxO in my opinion.
The game is very original in almost all the way; from the load out type of abilities, to the storyline, the live events and the type of transport, an issue that is such a pain in other MMORPGs... Hard Lines rock!
I think the interlocking combat system and all around the current system is really good overall and will only get better with time, after all, is my belief and hope SOE wants to grow this game and not sink it as many believe.
Crafting and decompiling is a good fun, I really like it and I can only say I get excited when I manage to learn how to make a new item even if it's an apparel that have no use but an aesthetic one.
I like the graphic and the cut cinematic even the new ones, after all, if SOE need to decide to spend more money in cinematic or development, I prefer them to use the money to grow the game not to add a scene done in fancy graphic that I will not see more than once.
I like that this game seemed so far well balanced and you do not see the differences you would normally notice in other games like Warcraft; as a player, I can solo to level 60 and with a bit of luck and a good faction to support me I will be as good as somebody that did all the constructs and Pandora's box missions, or at least that is my impression.
Faction, where to start, they are so much better than guild, the crew concept and the splinter faction under the same banner are absolutely a great idea, I just want to see which one will be the Merovingian one but if I have to guess I would say the General one.
I like the fact that, unlike the other games, if you do not play 24/7 you can still have fun, you can log in for a short period and do not miss out you faction instance runs that last 4 to 6 hours with frustrating conflicts and issues associated with that type of games.
Now, I could add more, from the nice character creation process, to the fact that people ar friendly and seem to be willing to help at all time and, let's face it, the crafting system as it is, induce a more helpful approach.
So now, fire away, ignore, flame and or read if you so chose... and if you do, thank you for it.
