When I remove an ability from the hotbar I drag it off and get the message you can't drop any objects in the world but since the new update it has said only luggable objects can be dropped, what are luggable objects? Also I couldn't see anything in the patch notes that could explain this.
Could be a very postive change this...developing objects that drop during combat and maybe cant be carted through hl's opens a lot of addtional gameplay potential.....lets hope that is what it is about.
Maybe it's connected maybe it isn't, but Rarebit or Walrus (I forget exactly who) did mention there was an object type that Dracomet was working on. Perhaps this could be to do with that. We'll just have to wait and see.
Take a look at the Data Miner Tree .. Detect Luggable (in the environment) and See Luggable (if a player is carrying one) have been added to the apex of the tree
Seems WGAnubis' Plea was heard ... (or perhaps and ability that will play a part in the Halloween Events) (Stealing peoples goodie baskets)
On a more serious note, it wouldn't be the first MMO to allow the literal carrying of items. I could see a use in the Halloween event - Escort someone carrying something important, random spontaneous spawns while the item is being carried. It's like a portable Jack-o-Lantern.
Well, there's a limit to how much can be found out for now.
In beta, didn't they have some sort of objective-based stuff that involved carrying objects around that you couldn't fight while carrying? I thought that was what hyper-strength used to be for (before CR2 erased it), carrying really heavy ones. The word "luggable" has triggered all this in my mind.
As much as I love the dev team, I wouldn't get too into the whole CTF concept. From my perspective, 'luggables' seem to be a nice addition to the data miner tree, pulling an item out of the code-stream and having to return it to a contact while being chased by auto-spawning NPCs.
Hmm, if it's a singleton and will only drop in the world when the carrier is killed ... then I think that pretty much answers the server slowdown. Especially if it takes 5-10 minutes to get one.
