It would be nice to get an upgrade on the Hovercraft.

Prediction for Halloween event:

If they ever finished up the NPCs, then it could be Zombie time. Rarebit once said that they were designing a powerplant area that would have had zombie NPCs populating it. Of course, the powerplant never did make it into the game, but perhaps they did finish up the NPCs? If so, that'd be sweet. Could have the whole Dawn of the/Night of the/Day of the Zombies thing going on =D

As for missing NPCs, that problem is older than update 46, just look at specific NPCs that die once, then never respawn - certain Bells have been doing that for months. They die, leave their corpse and it never goes away causing them not to respawn. And if one doesn't vanish, it's entire spawn pattern can't spawn either.
#36300050162 09/15/2006 18:50:33 Re:The Other Side of the Looking Glass - Friday, September 15, 2006
could it be the long lost power plant? SMILEY

It sickens and upsets me that we even have this crap death effect delema...

It is directly related to two posts I made in the past that brings up an even bigger exploit with your systems... even a dev on QA assured me they where fuxing the problem back before CR 2.0

Oh here proof:

So I was wrong it's been brought up 3 times or more and *all this crap is all related to one stupid system of non-dynamicly updating abilities* but obviously nobody cares or the incompetence overwhelms it all.

I have a feeling that the long lost power plant is what we'll be seeing along with some.....zombies!!! I remember Chadwick asking Walrus about it in an interview on thex.fm a while back. Zombies in the Matrix would have been ridiculous as a normal thing to have if you ask me. For Halloween though.......bring it!!!SMILEY

I seriously doubt it, since they said they dont have enough people to finish that area of the game. But I bet they made zombie masks.
#36300050220 09/15/2006 21:57:03 Re:The Other Side of the Looking Glass - Friday, September 15, 2006
can you reactivate the masks from last year's halloween??  can we have new masks?
#36300050232 09/15/2006 22:21:27 Re:The Other Side of the Looking Glass - Friday, September 15, 2006
What power plant do you speak of?

Also, I hope the previous masks can be somehow obtainable again. Would be rather unfair if they are not considering for months the masks could not be uploadable or e-mailed so many people, including myself, deleted it for inventory space.
#36300050235 09/15/2006 22:25:42 Re:The Other Side of the Looking Glass - Friday, September 15, 2006
"Mmm...brains."

Yesss... Haha. Good deal. Can't wait to see what this new "object-type" is as well.

#36300050250 09/15/2006 23:11:36 Re:The Other Side of the Looking Glass - Friday, September 15, 2006
I'm kinda hoping ALL NPC outsider gangs are going to be turned into Zomibes. Along with ones that spawn on players to drop masks. I also kinda hope that last years masks are "for sale" via Vendor while new ones are awarded as loot from spawns.

It really doesn't seem fair on the players that *did* manage to keep last years masks, to have to wade through endless drops of them again in order to get new ones. And it doesn't seem fair to those that lost them to make them have to grind most of the "event" away in the hopes of getting them again. So it seems fair to sell the old ones, and make us collect newer ones via spawns =D
#36300050312 09/16/2006 00:18:23 Re:The Other Side of the Looking Glass - Friday, September 15, 2006

Who doesnt like the holiday events, that christmas holiday hat rocked and still rocks.

Anyway the sentence that was interesting but on the other hand very annoying is this:

"Another is a new object type that we'll be able to build some gameplay around. It's something that was started on back in beta, but was never completed"

How much un-used content have you got, cos if you think about it, there is white hallways, theres Zen Master which we know the animations are done but the move itself is not balanced.  There is org specific abilities.  Theres also other stuff but being early in the morning and the fact that im getting late for work i really cant remember lol.

But you all know theres quite a bit of half-baked ideas which just never made it in game.

#36300050316 09/16/2006 00:20:34 Re:The Other Side of the Looking Glass - Friday, September 15, 2006
I don't see Zen Master coming back. CR2 kinda made it redundant =/ Would be nice if some of the animations from it made it in as emotes though.
#36300050404 09/16/2006 02:48:59 Re:The Other Side of the Looking Glass - Friday, September 15, 2006
Glad to hear that everything is going to be so big this year for Hallowe'en! I just hope that all these ideas you're putting effort into manage to make it in-game, it would be a real shame if they didn't!
#36300050453 09/16/2006 05:22:46 Re:The Other Side of the Looking Glass - Friday, September 15, 2006

Still got my nightmare and succubus mask. If there will be zombies maybe they will be the ones who will spawn from the jack-o-lanterns this time. Also I hope the hardlines will have another halloween design, the last one wasn't that good.

That's what I thought it might be...BUT he said object, which to me implies it's more of a useable object like a sword or something (just for example, I know it's not) Rather than a feature.

Still it's got me really excited for future looking glasses! SMILEY

I doubt we'll have an NPC overhaul, if only for the fact that I don't like the idea of Rarebit lieing in the Ask A Dev thread. SMILEY

That power plant thing - that's one hell of an object, for sure.

Zombies seem highly likely, it seems. If that's the case, I ask only for a hell of a lot of movie references!
Hmm... how about instead of changing the world, they change us. I'm not talking about the Disguises, but actually changing the players into Zombies. We know they can definitely change the player look into a custom one for sure (the Million Cryptos event, along with the recent use of Unlimits in catching Beirn on Recursion). I can't be sure, but I don't know of many times it happened before - maybe they've finally nailed it down, and can put it in a viral package ala the Flame Virus (something that was concieved in Beta, eh!).

The bad thing for me is I'm going to bloody busy for this Halloween. Thankfully the MxO 'celebrations' last longer than a day. THere's this, school coursework, Guild Wars Nightfall, the Guild Wars Halloween celebration, and the possibility of going on holiday!
#36300050811 09/16/2006 15:58:34 Re:The Other Side of the Looking Glass - Friday, September 15, 2006
we should be abel to transfer into an FPS mode and aim and blast a Zombies Brains back i mean we cand do any blood (WWTF OMGWHY DIDNT THEY PUT BLOOD IN GAME INSTED OF GREEN SIRCULZ) but a whole but of green or red code letters could splash on the floor...i guess

I think it is a blend of not caring and incompetence.... about 63/37 I reckon.

The number of reported QA issues that made it to live was (and is) abysmal.

Id rather have more static content then melee weapons!
and the pitch black was one of the best things about halloween!

*CENSORED* its gotta be pitch black that was about the best part..... hehe you can wear all black and make it extremely hard for someone to see you its great.

Ah but what would the third weapon tree be?
#36300052030 09/18/2006 08:57:11 Re:The Other Side of the Looking Glass - Friday, September 15, 2006

Third weapon tree? Obvious really

1. Swords, blades etc.

2. Short weapons (Double handed maybe): Daggers, Kitana, nunchucks

or Blunt weapons: clubs, crowbar, broken pool cue

3. Long Weapons; Staffs, Long metal poles, Halberds.

But thats never gonna happen so lets stop dreaming. SMILEY

As for halloween, Pitch black is a necessity. In fact, make it even darker! Turn off all the car headlights, street lamps and building lights and have utter utter darkness SMILEY

New "object" you say. Hmm...Intriguing.

Hmm exploding pumkins that give you bad rotten code.. I treasure to find if you can locate the correct punkin in each district. That would be awesome.

Oh and the teaser for new game play COULD THAT BE Zen Tree???

Or is that melee ?

#36300052340 09/18/2006 16:11:03 Re:The Other Side of the Looking Glass - Friday, September 15, 2006
They have said so many times that they are not going to do melee weapons......

And Zen master isnt needed now, Zen Master was a way for people to be able to stand up to Hackers in CS1 (Combat System One), now due to the way resistences work in CR2, its not needed.

it could be vehicles and that would be a great addition considering my legs are getting pretty tired from running and landing after jumping 70 feet in the air
