Let me guess... live events don't happen on weekends because the staff doesn't work on them?
Sheesh, one of the things I subscribed to play for and I don't think they even have them on the only time I'm able to play because of work.

I get off at 1 AM EST... I don't think they'd be that late. I usually get home and go to sleep anyways, have college classes in the morning.

I know some people like the smaller events, but I have to participate in one of these newer style ones because the developer refuses to put up a schedule. I have a family, and while I enjoy playing MxO, I'm not going to ignore my wife and two children to wait in hope for an event to come on. Now, if it there was something more concrete ("Syntax, on Thursday, around 8pm EST, give or take an hour, there should be an event)", that would be great. I could schedule my time and participate, and enjoy one of the primary reasons why I signed on for this game.
As it stands now, I don't see how I could ever wind up falling into one of these. And that's very, very frustrating.

I said it before, and I'll say it again. Live Events is one of the reasons why I picked this MMO over all of them and upgraded my computer just to play it. What other choices do I have... play SWG and have to buy all of those expansions every time they come out because SOE wants to make a bunch of money, WoW which is basically 'the mcdonalds of mmo's' I don't really have a choice. One of the things I read so much about this game is that you could interact and roleplay with the characters from the Matrix Trilogy and that's what brought me to the game, of course that's all in the past now.. but SOE shouldn't hide behind that false advertisement now. They should post something right on the homepage that says, "Live Events: We rarely have them because SOE is too cheap to hire more people, sowwy."
I wish they had more people working, but considering the fact that all the Matrix characters can't really be that active maybe they see it as more 'realistic' that one person controls them. Yes, he does a good job.. but the spammers and retards make it harder for everyone else to interact with the characters it seems.
No, my friend. It's not a limited point of view, it's the fact that it's the -only- unique quality that makes it stand out from other online games. Besides maybe a more 'modern' looking world and martial arts. I guess those attracted me as well, better than sitting there clicking a button to hack someone to death with a sword all day or chant spells. But almost everything from other MMO's are there. I just recently transferred to graphical games from playing MUDs for about ten years so excuse my 'limited point of view'. Yes, the game is beautiful.. that's why I have a previous post stating that I automatically went from a trial to a paid account when I first logged in with my new graphics card.
