Once again, I am pleased to say that the Cypherites have a new recruit, former Captain Retroact. I would say that this operative had a helping hand in his initiation, but it was a necessary one.
While you were assisting Reokace secure Retroact's position, I was on my way to see him in person. Oh, and don't worry... Reokace was re-inserted this morning by the Machines... Seems he had enough of the whole thing, and just wanted to sleep--peacefully.
The evening before, Retroact met with me and asked that he be able to defect to the Cypherites. No problem there, right? It's more of a benefit to us, than anything else. So, I offered him a spot within our ranks... under one condition. He had to follow the original recruitment procedure, which meant, he had to kill his crew for salvation. After some though, he caved in.
At last, I had left to find his hovercraft in the real. I knew some of you would be upset I wasn't there in person, but I'm glad you'll understand now, if you hadn't already.
When I arrived, I noticed that he was already a third of the way there, his was operator struggling for his last seconds of life on the floor. I put an end to that. I read the screens and saw that Retroact was surrounded by quite a few operatives... I recognized two of them: the one who was in all white, and the one in all the black... Looked familiar, and they should have--I passed them right before I came across the operator on the floor. Those were his crew members ... our prey.
I guess I have good timing, because when I had told him I arrived, he headed straight for an exit. I pulled him out of the Matrix, and his first words were: "Thank you."
How polite, right? Well, the face of gratitude swiftly changed.
"Listen, let's just get this over with. Doblique is the one on the right, this one is Salvent." He said.
"Oh, he's a cutie. Mind if I do the honors?" I had to ask...
"I don't. Just let me deal with Salvent." He replied.
So, we counted down from three...
The first, Doblique, fell to the floor on the screen, and his vitals were gone.
I noticed some hesitation from Retroact, but when I finally gave him a reassuring smile, he pulled the cord. There was a sigh of relief. We both watched, as the code stream removed Salvent and Doblique from the server.
I hope you're all eager to see him... He isn't headed to the blue, just yet. Oh, and if you're interested in what the Zionites are saying, I managed to pull this off his ship this morning.
